In any manga, it's obvious that the top main characters are going to be talked about the most. We've got Syaoran and Sakura of Cardcaptor Sakura. We've got Tohru, Yuki, and Kyo of Fruits Basket. Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura of Naruto, and ect. with everything else.

What gives me a relief in all those series is that fans talk about other characters too. Not just one comment here and maybe one there, but sometimes whole forums about additional characters.

Okay...so what am I sick and tired of? Fans of S.A (Special A) only ever talk about Hikari and Kei. Oh my gosh...it makes me sick! A whole lot of fans are even keeping up with scanlations, not just the VIZ versions. They've been introduced to the other characters that were there from, like, the very beginning. But still, all I read in forums is this:

"OMG Hikari is so dense, it's not even funny",

"Hikari needs to realize Kei loves her",

"Kei is so hot, and he's perfect",

"I love Kei"

"Hikari is smart, but stupid when it comes to love. She's dense."

"Kei is so funny~"

And this list can go on and on...repeating!

People can see how I, who has been a fan for 2.5 years, could get annoyed reading mostly  that on all forums! I'm more familiar with other characters to like some other than Hikari or Kei. But the only other characters I've read fan squees for are Akira and Tadashi, but nowhere are they placed together. They're a couple too, and they even get together 17 chapters before Hikari and Kei do!

Then we have Jun, Megumi, and Ryu. These three appear enough, even though they are the most ignored when it comes to personal chapters.

Megumi is the most adorable character ever (in S.A)! She's only been mentioned once out of all the forums I've read and that was "Megumi's cute." No one has ever mentioned wanting to see her actually speak instead of write. I was curious about that for a while (until i finally saw it in chapter 39^^).  It's also interesting to see that Yahiro and Megumi go on a couple of dates. I'm sure that if people recognized that, then they would be saying, "WTF, Yahiro and Megumi? Let's give examples of how these two are NOT  or ARE perfect for each other..etc"

Jun? He's a show himself: he has a split personality who's a pimp!  But I'll admit to you all, Jun is not my most favorite character. He's on the lower part of my interests. But he's still so cool when he goes pimp. His trial with hooking up with girls because of that shameful split personality gives a bit of angst on his part. But it's such a relief when Sakura Ushikubo accepts him. By chapter 41, they're a couple! Cool, look at that, another cpuple before Hikari and Kei...-.-

Ryu...he's actually my most favorite character! He's one who really cares for the well-being and safety of those close to him. That doesn't only include the twins, but the other members of S.A when they're in trouble. He's trustworthy and not spoiled like everyone else who's rich! He's going to be a good father when he becomes one...^^ But I think the most interesting thing about Ryu is his connection to Finn. When these two are becoming friends, Ryu starts to fell odd and blushes alot. When I was first reading these Ryu-personal chapters, I thought we were going to have yaoi moments! But then it was accidently revealed that Finn was really a girl...Now that was a surprise! I would've never imagined that Finn was really a girl! It wasn't like Girl Got Game, or Hana-Kimi where we knew from the beginning that the "boy" was actually a girl. Anyway...I'm crossing my fingers that these two become a couple, but I highly doubt it...(T.T)

We have Aoi too. Not the most entertaining character, but he's basically the trigger of Hikari's realization of her feelings for Kei. He has an important role!

Usually the narrator of S.A is either Hikari or Kei. There are exceptions with other characters, but it's mostly Hikari. Most of the story encircles Hikari and Kei too, so it's reasonable that fans have nothing to talk about but Hikari and Kei...But it's still drives me crazy that that's all fans type about...><
