I've gone through many obsessions over a series in the past. Furuba is one of them. It lasted from September of 2004 and I'm recovering from the obsession (probably started around the release of chapter 131, which was about two months ago). I often go back and try to remember what it was that got me interested. In Furuba's case, it was just because it was summer and I had nothing else to read. I bought volume 4 in August 2004 when I had nothing else to spend $10 on. I believe that's when my huge interest began.
I also go back to when I first heard of Furuba. I was a overly obsessive fan of DBZ at one time. It was when I bought a magazine of DBZ that I saw an article about Funimation's newest series: Fruits Basket. To me it looked like a girl who talked with animals (just from looking at it...). I'm like, "Dr. Dolittle?" Anyway...I didn't actually get to see the anime until December of 2004, when volume 6 of the manga came out. from there, I got them easily.
I may not be as interested in the series anymore, but I'm still sticken to it. The end of the story is very close in Japan, so I'm keeping up with the newly released chapters.
