Cliffhangers....don't we all hate them? The chapter ends but doesn't really end! You have to stay tuned to the next segment. I've experienced that a lot! This entry will have spoilers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fruits Basket chapter 121: This chapter is probably the most tense besides chapters 31-34. If you haven't read as far as that, then don't read the rest of the Fruits Basket segment of this entry! Akito has come to confront Tohru, saying that it's she who is the filthy one, making the "eternity" wanted disappear. Tohru finally understands whay Akito feels and tries to start from a clean platter. Akito refuses to take what Tohru says, but in the end, Akito sees what Tohru really means. Akito becomes calm and starts to take Tohru's hand (which Tohru has handed out). Then just as Akito is about to take her hand, the little cliff that they're on crumbles from the overnight rain! Tohru falls to the ground below...and is unconscious. That chapter I would say is the most cliffhangy Furuba is ever going to get. I can think of other times in Furuba, but I didn't start keeping up with the Japanese releases until chapter 100 was released about two years ago. There are cliffhangers before that, but chapter 121 is my big one.
Rave Master: ...Does it count to say "every chapter"? Not quite all the chapters, but pretty much! Every chapter has kept me saying, "What happens next?!" I think that so far in what Tokyopop has released, it would be the end of volume 5 or end of volume 8.
SA Special A chapters 29, 46, 48, and 50: Yeah...the later parts of the story. Later on, things get complicated. Kei has his future planned out basically against his will. They want him to be transfered to the Takishima branch in London, but he refuses. So Takishima's grandfather, the CEO of the London branch, sends someone to see exactly why Kei doen't want to go. This person is called Aoi Ogata. He finds out pretty quickly why Kei doesn't want to go. There's something, or rather, someone he doesn't want to leave. Any guesses who? (All SA fans should know...but how many SA fans are there anyway...?) So Aoi has a plan to seperate the two and one of the tactics involves something I can't understand. Heh heh... Anyway, chapter 29 ends with Hikari getting into Aoi's car to go somewhere. He probably lured her in ,but...HellO?! A guy who has a few tricks up his sleeve to seperate two friends is something to think about when entering the guy's car! Anyway...chapter 30 is one of my favorite chapters because of the end result of Aoi's plan. It's pretty awesome what happens to him (..what Kei does to him...). Chapter 46 is when Hikari recieves a letter from Takishima's grandfather and a paid ticket to London. I was like, "What's he up to now?" I couldn't know because it ended with that!! Chapter 48 is what happens after the London chapter. Hikari met a boy named Finn in London and comes to Hikari's house at the end of chapter 48. What are his motives? To marry her. Chapter 50 is dedicated to Ryu and Finn. Ryu is the most ignored character, I swear! To have a couple chapters on him is really, really nice! Anyway...not only do we see more of Ryu in this, but we see more of Finn as well. Hikari has made it clear that she does not want to marry Finn. So now they're just friends, see? Finn becomes friends with Ryu as well. At the end of the chapter, an accident happens. Ryu finds out Finn's secret identity. Finn is a "she"!!! Heh heh...it ended with Finn throwing a bar of soap at him and Ryu leaving. Man oh man...I was so mad after I had to wait one month for 51 to come out.
Faeries Landing: Again...all the chapters? I think it was at the end of volume 10 that I felt cliffhanged. Or maybe it was in the first half of volume 11? Sometime in there. I just couldn't stop reading because I needed to see what happened next. I got to volume 14 and was like, "Volume 15 doesn't come out until February? What kind of weird...oh...now I get it..never mind...BUT STILL WHY DID IT END THIS WAYYYYYYYYYYYY?!!!!!!!!!" Yeah, I was very mad. But what can 'ya do? Be patient....
Elemental Gelade: The end of volume 1. I couldn't believe Ren was going to betray them! Noooooo~! But then I read volume 2 and it was all better.
There's so much more I could list. So much in fact that it would take me a week to write it all up. so I just end there.
