Afrit (Spirit File)

The demon class Afrit, hails from the Arabian and Muslim region. Said to develop from the spilt blood of murder victims, these creatures are said inspire unspeakable terror due to the brutal nature of the individuals demise. The typical form for an Afrit is that of a miniature sand storm (i.e. the size of the individual that was killed) other instances they are said to resemble the appearance of a typical Christian devil. The truth of the mater is that the victim’s blood essence gets intertwined with that of an earth spirit, who just happens to be under the area in which the victim’s blood gets spilt. Sandstorm Afrit from those sand based earth spirits and devil like Afrit from earth spirits in a more rural area. In essence there are two victims to this terrible act, the individual who dies, and the spirit who gets fused with the victim.

However it is believed that driving a new nail in to the bloodstained ground is believed to prevent the Afrit’s formation. The chances are that this just scared the earth spirit off, or provided some spiritual/chemical reaction.
