Dybbuk (Spirit File)
The Hebrew word Dybbuk comes from the word/s which means cleaving and/or clinging. The Dybbuk is a technically a wondering human spirit who over time has degenerated by malice and become malignant, a Dybbuk develops from individuals who do not receive an appropriate burial, as such is considered a demon. The Dybbuk enters a host body forming a sudo-host/parasite relationship (so not a case of possession); the host in these cases are individuals (according to local folklore) who are sick. However by the early sixteenth century, Jewish spiritual leaders decided that a secondary factory was needed; as it was believed that a Dybbuk carried its past sins with it, so such came the belief that the host had sinned at some point, thus was a triggering factor.
The Kabbalah contain many instruction that deal with the exorcism of the Dybbuk, to which its departure is indicated via a bloody mark on the small toe, as this is believed to be the route which the Dybbuk takes to exit the body. There is a few exorcism spells in the old testament of the Christian bible, which also deals with the removal of the Dybbuk.
The interesting thing is that mainstream Judaism doesn’t officially see the transmigration of souls and the process of reincarnation as part of their religion. So the Dybbuk revels a glimpse of the role of the supernatural it their society.
