The next morning at school, I tore away from Addie, and I walked up to Daisuke while he was talking to Takeshi.
"Morning boys." I said cheerily.
"Good morning, Kiana." They said in unison.
"Daisuke, I was wondering if I could borrow you for a moment." I admitted.
"Sure." Daisuke agreed. "I needed to talk to you anyways. Takeshi can you give us a moment?"
"I guess. I'll just be over there, talking to Adelina." Takeshi told us.
The moment Takeshi went away, Daisuke and I walked away from everyone else.
"Daisuke," I began. "Are you the Legendary Phantom Thief Dark?"
"Before I answer that, let me ask you something. Are you the Legendary Phantom Thief Nite?" Daisuke wondered.
"I am, but I'm not. She's kind of like me, but kind of not. Do you know what I mean?" I asked.
"I'm Dark. And yes. I know exactly what you mean. Dark's the same way." Daisuke said.
"I’m so glad to have someone to talk to about all this. It's so overwhelming."
"I know exactly how you feel." Daisuke told me.
Without thinking, I hugged him. I didn't really know what I was doing, but he hugged me back, so I figured what I was doing was okay.
"Break it up you two." Takeshi said.
"Yeah. Kia, I thought you liked Ca—" Addie began, but I put my hand over her mouth.
"Be quiet. That's one of my deepest secrets, that I hoped you'd take to your grave." I hissed.
"And Daisuke, I thought you liked Ri—." Takeshi started to say.
"No! Don't spill that secret!" Daisuke cried.
"Looks like you two can't tell each other everything." Takeshi smiled.
"Wait what do you mean, 'one of your darkest secrets?' I thought you told me everything. Are you keeping something from me?" Addie asked.
"You're a little slow on the uptake. But yes. I’m just having family troubles, that I don’t want to talk about." I said, it being half true.
Tonight at midnight, I plan on stealing
"The Emerald of Shattered Dreams"
~*Nite*~
"Who comes up with these names?" I asked in disgust, when my parents told me what Nite and I would be stealing this time. "They're really dumb, and sound like they belong in an art museums, and not jewelry stores."
"I agree with you there." Nite said.
"Mom, what time is it?" I asked.
"Around nine, sweetie." She told me.
"9? Good. I have three hours to kill. What shall I do with myself?" I plopped down on the couch.
"You could pick up your room a little." My dad suggested.
"I could…but TV catches my fancy more than that option does." I grinned.
My parents sighed as I picked up the remote and channel surfed.
"When I was a child—" My grandpa began.
"You had to listen to your parents and there was no such thing as television. You sat across the table from your siblings and stared at them for hours." I interrupted. "Spare me, grandpa. I'm going to go read a book."
I flipped the TV off and walked upstairs. I lay down on my stomach on my bed and pulled my sketchpad off the nightstand.
"You know, that emerald thingy is at the same museum Dark's robbing tonight." I said to Nite.
"Yeah. Whatever." Nite muttered.
