http://www.publishersweekly.com/article/CA6463893.html CLAMP has partnered with Dark Horse, and will be releasing their next series simulatenously in Japan, North America and South Korea. Why Dark Horse? I imagine their years of dealing directly with japanese artists through their relationship with, as well as their high profile dealings with popular domestic artists and big licensors like Star Wars, Buffy and other companies have given then experience in navigating the waters for this sort of thing....
We'll be seeing 80 page, simulataneously monthly releases, following by trade paperback collections [that way, we get the content quicker] http://www.mangablog.net/?p=1129 Manga Blog provides a good wrap up of recent licensing news alongside this including CMX licensing Crayon Shinchan. The Shinchan manga was previously released in english by Comics One.

I'm really curious why this project went to Dark Horse, especially since Del Rey has done a nice job with both "Tsubasa" and "xxxHolic." I'm also wondering how the "mangettes" will sell: will American readers buy them out of a sense of urgency, or just wait for the tankubons?
