It was about another three days before Kiba was released from the hospital even so he still was a little sore but good enough to walk on his own. His grandparents were waiting for him. They started back towards home before his grandma turned around and said “before we leave the city don’t you think you should pick something up for your friends birthday he came up to see if you were home so he could see if you were still interested in coming and I said you would be home later today and would be more than happy.” ”Oh that’s today yeah could we make a quick stop at the mall I have the perfect idea for a gift!” They stopped at a mall just a few blocks from the hospital and Kiba ran in and remembered that Al was into drawing so he ran to the nearest art shop and got some really fancy drawing paper and utensils. He paid for the stuff and ran back up to the car jumping in breathing as hard as he could then he suddenly grabbed his stomach withering with pain realizing that he was still sore. “Crap that was a bad idea.” “You do realize that he’s not going to start without you?” “Yeah but I like to add dramatic effect to everything.” “Ha ha you always were a weird one anyways if we don’t leave this parking lot he might just start without us.” They got home around 1:00 PM and Al was sitting on the steps of his house waiting for him. “Hey Kiba long time no see it’s about time you got home how you feeling?” “Pretty Good I guess I am a little sore but all and all I should be back to 100 percent by the end of this week oh here I almost forgot I got you this.” “Thanks Kiba I will open it later but right now let’s get over to my house I got everything set up.” Kiba walked down with Al to his house and went inside to be surrounded by banners and gifts and food but only the two of them and Al’s parents were there. “So are all the other guests late? “No don’t you remember you’re the only one I know around here.” “Oh yeah” Kiba had blushed feeling very stupid I must be getting short term memory loss.” “No you’re just getting old.” “Very funny smartass” Al had placed the present Kiba had given him up with the ones from his parents just then they both came in and said “Well I think it’s about time we started” so they began to sit down at the table and dig into they food when Kiba spoke “Wow this all looks so good you made all this thanks.” Then Al jumped up and stood proudly “I made some of this too.” “So I guess I will know who made anything that’s burnt.” Al sat down “Mom can you pass me a knife.” Just then they were about to start eating when there was a knock at the door. “Well I wonder who that could be.” Al and Kiba both looked at each other curiously the door opened and there stood a father with a boy at his side around Al’s age. “Can we borrow your phone are car broke down and the nearest town is five miles from here.” “Sure come on in.” The man thanked her for her kindness and went to use the phone while the boy stood at the door looking down at his shoes waiting to leave. Al got up and walked over to him followed by Kiba. “Hi my name is Al what’s yours?” The boy just kept looking down then Al twisted his head under the boy to see his face “Helloooooooo!” “Oh leave him alone.” Kiba said pulling him back. Just then his father came back “Well they said they can’t get someone to come out until tomorrow do you mind if we bunk here?” “Sure why not your son can sleep with Al and his friend.” “Were just sitting down to eat would you like to join us?” “Oh yeah we haven’t had anything to eat for the past five hours!” The boy walked over to the table followed by his father and he sat next to Al. Everyone was eating Al was eating as fast as he could so he could get to the presents he finished first and then without warning screamed.
