~+~Prologue~+~


My face was twisted in agony and sadness as my first and best friend was slowly dying of a poison he got thanks to me. I gripped his hand as he moaned and gasped for breath, he had entered another spasm of pain, he writhed and trembled uncontrollably. I gently put a cold rag against his forehead, and wiped some of the sweat away. My hands brushed through his soft blue hair.

The boy calmed, and I sighed in relief. Someone gently touched my shoulder, I turned to see Hitomi Takaido, she was trying to smile, but was failing as she watched the brother she only just learned she had die slowly. Hitomi's mother, Anju has tears streaming down her face. She hadn't seen her son in so long, and he was already dying.

I snuffled. “Merrik…” I breathed.

The boy gasped one more agonizing time, and then he never moved again.

Neji Hyuuga clutched my hand tightly as I watched them lower his coffin down into the gaping hole. The tears flew from my eyes, the same from the only person I could ever call mom. Anju's soul seemed to be moving out of her along with tears. Hitomi could watch, she never knew her brother, due to the fact that he was kidnapped by Orochimaru. The littlest of the Takaido family, Ray, was balling, due to the fact that he sucked up emotions from others around him whenever he didn't understand what was happening.

I leaned on Neji's shoulder for support. This spasm of tears was almost over. The benches we were all sitting on where cluttered with tissues from everyone who knew him, from many villages. The strongest of the Takaidos, excluding Anju, has died, from a poison that I could have prevented. I buried my head in Neji's sleeve, hoping it would make everything better. Neji's hand had moved from mine to my shoulder, he was clutching me against him tightly. A tear brushed past my ear, I smiled at the cruel voice in the back of my head. `The Almighty powerful Neji Hyuuga is crying! What a shock.' The voice laughed loudly in my head.

`Now isn't the time Kitten.' I hissed back in my head.

Kitten snorted. `What? You want me to leave so you can cuddle with your all time crush?! Ha! You make me laugh, kid!'

`My best friend just died, and your bothering me with my crush?'

`Why yes, yes I am.' Kitten replied smugly.

`I can't believe your part of me.' I growled. I felt my dry sense of humor come back with a vengeance. `I know your sad too, he was your best friend too.' I know that hit her.

Kitten didn't reply again, and I was brought back to reality with a gentle kiss on my lips from Neji. I blushed slightly and kissed back.

A final tear slipped down my cheek as I fell asleep in his embrace.

The last thing I remember was the mental picture of Kitten turning bright red, and I smiled before I was taken away by the warmth, and cruel sadness.

Name: Anna Arina (I changed her name! O-o By a letter!)
Age: 16 (one year younger than Neji)

Height: 5-8 (3 inches shorter than Neji)

Weight: 95 Lbs (Skinny…)

Origin: No one knows where she came from, she was found as an infant in the Hyuuga compound. She grew up with Neji and Hinata and settled a few disputes between the Hyuuga.
Appearance: Anna has brown hair, amber eyes, and best of all KITTY EARS. She often is seen wearing cargo pants/shorts and a regular tee shirt, she wears the shorts most often when she's fighting. Her hair reaches to her shoulder blade.

Abilities: She chanced upon a secret Hyuuga scroll, and can do everything a Hyuuga can. Like you may have guessed she is possessed by a demon a lot like Naruto's hers is different though. Hers is passed from family member to family member, and is no real harm, it actually helps more than anything.
