                                                          The Last Dance 

               Chapter 1: Temari and Tenten’s chat, crushes are reveled.

“WHAT!!! You still don’t have a date yet!!!” Tenten screamed.

“No, now get off my back, will ya.” Temari sighed.

“Come on! The dance is in two days. There’s now way in hell you’ll find a date by then.” Tenten calmmed herself down. “What have you been doing all that time before?”

“Training, we do have the final exam in a week ya know.” Temari said, starting to get annoyed by her best friend.

“Training my ass! This is the last dance of the school year, and you skipped out on all the other ones because you couldn’t find a damn date!” “And you said you would try to get a date this time!” Tenten scolded Temari while taking a bite of her sandwich. “If you don’t find one soon, I’ll just have to find one for ya, and since most of the good ones are gone, you probably won’t like the one I choose.” A small chuckle came from Tenten lips as she spoke.

“O.K., look! No one at this damn school likes me that way!!! So why should I even bother?” Asked Temari.

“Because! I know there has to be someone here who likes you.” Tenten started, “Come on, admit it!”

“If someone here liked me then tell me who!” Temari demanded.

“Don’t expect me to know, it’s not like I have the school wired or something.” Tenten spoke in a sort of kool way.

“Whatever, besides, I thought you didn’t have a date this time!” Temari mocked.

“Actually, I kind of do have a date.” Tenten said softly and blushed.

“Who?” Temari asked.

“Neji.” Tenten whispered, now blushing even more.

“REALLY!!!!” “He finally asked you! WHOOO! You go girl!” Temari yelled for being so happy for her friend.

Tenten has had a crush on Neji for the longest of time never admitting her feelings. And he never really admitted his felling for her either. So seeing them together was a bit of a shock for Temari.

“So, have you picked out hot outfit to shock him with yet?” Asked Temari, trying to keep away from the ‘Temari needs a date’ topic.

“Nope, but I’m going shopping after school, wanna come?” “I could help you pick out an outfit to shock the guy you’re going to go to the dance with once we find him.” Tenten invited.

‘Oh crap! She went back to ‘Temari needs a date’ topic. Great!’ Thought Temari. “Look Tenten, not to be mean or anything but, Neji is going with you, Chouji is going with Ino, Lee is going with Sakura, Naruto is going with Hinata, Kiba is going with Kin,(no idea how they got paired up) and Gaara is going with Tayuya. Not that I would want to go with my brother.”

“How the hell did Tayuya end up with Gaara?” Tenten blurted out.

“No freaking idea, all I know is that she finds him irresistible. It’s scary. And when they makeout on the sofa, it’s just plain gross!” Temari replied.

“EEEEEWWWWWWW!!!!!!!” “UNWANTED FANTASYES!!!! UNWANTED FANTASYS!!!” Tenten hollered at the top of her lugs like her life depened on it also trying not to bring back her sandwich.

“Anyways, there is no way in hell I’m going with that bug guy so there is pretty much no one left.” Temari cried.

“Huuummm,” Tenten seemed deep in thought, “oh, I know!! There’s Nara Shikamaru!! Tenten proudly said as if she just cracked the world’s code.

“You mean that lazy bum.”

“Yep!”

“Hell no!”

“…Why not?”

“I’ll give you three good reasons.” Temari started on.
“1. He’s two years younger than me.”
“2. He is sssssooooo lazy, he doesn’t get anything done.”
“And 3. He is, um, err, hum…. Oh! He’s not even cute!”

“Took you a while with that last one.” Tenten smirked.

“SO!! What’s you point?” Temari asked annoyed.

Tenten came closer to Temari and poked her in the upper part of her arm repeatedly and sung very cheerfully “You like Shikamaru, you like Shikamaru!”

Temari started to blush when she said, “DO NOT!” and shoved her away so she could stop poking her.

“Oh COME ON!! It’s written all over you face, Tem.(Temari’s nickname) Just admit it.”

“I don’t like him, Ten.”(Tenten’s nickname) Temari spoke calmly trying to sound serious.

“Yes you do, yes you do!” Tenten sang again.

“For the last damn time, I don’t like him!!!” Temari was now madly blushing.

“Just say it, you know you want to!!!” Tenten encouraged.

Temari finally gave in. “Fine. I may like him, a little, but that’s all.” Temari slowly whispered.

“I ssssooooo new it, I was wondering why you looked at him every now and then. And they weren’t ‘just looking’ looks. Tenten said smiling.

“SHUT UP!!!” Temari screamed but then calmed herself down to say something else. “Look, I’ll chop you up into little pieces and feed you to the fish if you tell a soul!(she has fish?) GOT IT!”

“Got it!” Tenten replied, “Now let’s go find Shikamaru!”

“…Why…” Temari’s voice sounded like she already knew.

“So you can go ask him to the prom. DAH!” Tenten said while starting to pull Temari by the wrists.

“HELL NO! NOW LET ME GO! THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL I’M ASKING HIM!” Temari said pulling away.

“Fine then,” Tenten started to speak letting Temari go, “I’ll just go ask him for you! Oh look, there he is!” Tenten started to run to Shikamaru.

Temari ran after her. When Temari caught Tenten, lucky for her, she hadn’t said anything important yet. So she slapped her had over Tenten’s mouth and dragged her away. When the got back to the tree the were sitting under Temari was pissed off.

“Tenten!!! Because I had to chase you and drag you away, I basically made a fool of myself right in front of him. He’s going to think I’m a freak or something!” Temari screamed seeming sad yet pissed at the same time.

“Oh it wasn’t that bad.” Tenten said going into flashback mode.

Flashback

“Hi Shikam-.” Tenten was cut off by Temari’s hand.

“Oh just ignore her! She’s just being funny today!” Temari said pulling Tenten. “We just walking by and now we’ll be leaving.”

“Okay, see ya.” Shikamaru yawned and lazily walked away. Everyone who was outside eating was staring. That is ‘til Temari told them to back off and walked away with Tenten in her arms.
End Flashback

“Oh, maybe it was that bad.” Tenten slowly and softly said, being ashamed of herself. Realizing how much she hurt Temari she apologized. Right after she did, the bell for the ending of lunch rang. They both walked to there next class in silence. As Temari walked through the door, she bumped into someone and started to fall face first on the tile floor. But before she was able to even put her hands out to stop herself, that someone who bumped into her, caught her. There she was, in his arms, but the moment didn’t last too long. He put her back on her feet.

“Oooh, auuu….umm, I auuu…errrr, T-thank you.” Temari blushed; she blushed so much it was very noticeable. Especially to the people who were staring at them, which was pretty much everyone.

“No problem, besides, I’m the one who knocked you over in the first place. So I am very sorry.” The boy said in a soft, shy voice.

“Aauu…. Errr, okay.” Temari stumbled on. The boy grabbed her hand and lightly kissed it. As he did, Temari’s face became redder then a tomato.
