The Unexpected Reunion

Kousuke glanced up to see who was talking to him. As his eyes climbed up the stair-well’s wall, he saw Shane lying down on top of it. Kousuke watched as the wind blew not only Shane’s hair, but her skirt as well. “When are you going to stop staring and answer my question?” Shane asked with some attitude.

Coming back to his senses, Kousuke answered with, “Well, I kind of felt responsible for you leaving.” Confused, Shane asked, “Why? Why would you feel responsible?” “Well because of our past, you know six years ago,” he said. “Oh that. Let us just say, that is something I put in my past, and it is going to stay there. I try not to remember my past often, so you should not either,” Shane replied, as Kousuke climbed up the ladder to the roof of the stair-well.

He came up and suddenly the wind blew Shane’s skirt revealing a little bit of her underwear. “You sure as hell, better not be looking up my skirt!!” Shane demanded. Averting his eyes right away, he came up the rest of the ladder, and sat down next to Shane. “Wow, this is a really nice view!” he said with excitement. “Of course it is. Why do you think I came up here? It is just nice to be up high, so you could get a change of scenery,” Shane stated. Looking down to agree with her, Kousuke noticed that her shirt was a bit tight around the chest. Blushing like crazy, Kousuke averted his eyes once again, and said, “Yeah. Looking from the same point of view all of the time, tends to get boring.” Then suddenly, Shane stood up, and jumped all of the down to the actual roof. “ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL YOURSELF?!” Kousuke shouted.

Brushing off the dirt and dust, Shane then looked up and replied, “No, but you are going to be late for class.” Then she ran off down the stairs, and the second she did so, the bell, for class to resume, rang. “DAMN IT!” Kousuke said as he slid down the sides of the ladder. Then he ran down the stairs after Shane, and as he did, he saw her go all of the way down to the first floor. “What are you doing? Our class is on the second floor!!” he shouted, but he did not get a reply back.

As he dashed for the classroom, he passed by several people he knew, so he said hello to them as he sped by. When he reached the classroom door, someone said, “Kousuke! You sure took your time in the bathroom.” It was Omar, Mr. Class Clown. “Hey guys! I was on my way back when...uh...I was stopped by Mrs. Catalina. She wanted to ask me something about last night’s homework. Sorry,” Kousuke replied.

Nitika opened the door for everyone, while she listened into the conversation. Just like Hikaru, Nitika’s hair was brown and her eyes were blue. Nitika is a polite young girl who does not get mad easily. She is one to keep her cool, and still grin in times of pain.

Clara turned out of the conversation, and noticed Shane. “Shane, are you feeling better?” she shouted. Kousuke glanced over in disbelief, but saw that she really was there. “WHAT?! But how? That is NOT possible!! She should not, no; she could not be able to get here before me! How-how……I-I am going to have to get to the bottom of this,” Kousuke thought.

After everyone walked into the room, reached Shane’s desk, and Nitika caught up to them, Anastasia asked, “Shane, do you want to go to the movies with us?” Shane looked surprised to be asked, and then looked worried at Clara. “Clara, you can come as well,” Anastasia added. Clara looked back at Shane with a smile, and at the same time they said, “Sure, I will go!” “Awesome. We were planning on having a giant sleepover, but we do not know whose house to have it at,” Ruya stated.

During the silence of thinking of where to have the sleepover, Shane looked back and forth between everyone. Then she said, “Well, we can have it at my house.” Shocked, Clara shouted, “NO!! You know Anita does not like uninvited guests in the family homes, especially if the home is being rented out by a family member! So, YOUR house is out of the question!” “Hahaha. You forget, I just invited them,” Shane responded. “Anita is NOT going to like this. You better not do anything reckless! You know the consequences! Besides, what about Topaz, Iggy, or any of the others? What are you going to do with them?” Clara discussed. “They will behave. I will be sure to that,” Shane replied.

Jumping into the conversation, Nitika said, “Well, if there are other people living in the house that do not like company, we should not intrude.” After Nitika finished, the others looked at Clara and Shane for an answer, but only saw confusion. Then suddenly, the Shane and Clara of them burst out into hysterical laughter. “Hahaha. You think there are people living with Shane?! There is not a person on earth who would completely acknowledge Shane besides me or her father, but he is no longer here. So, how in the world would people actually live with her?” Clara stated forcefully.

Saddened by what she said, everyone said in unison, “Then, what IS living with Shane?” “Animals I found seriously injured, homeless, or were unwilling to stay in the place they lived originally. I also have some that I inherited, and some that had a family, but the parents gave them to me to keep safe,” Shane explained. “How-how did you know the parents wanted you to keep their children safe?” asked Hikaru. Shane smirked, and said, “Let us just say, I have always had this gift of understanding animals of different species. So is everyone coming over tonight?” Everyone said yes, and then Yvette said, “Where are you going to meet us? Unless you are going to tell us where you live…” Clara looked at Shane’s uneasiness, then said, “I will meet you all in front of…the school…you know the park right in front of it…right there is where we will meet with all of our things, after the movie, and we will walk over to the movie theater again to be picked-up. So Shane, just go home after the movie and situate everything, so it is not crazy when we get there. Oh, and do not forget to make my favorite for dinner tonight!” “Alright,” Shane agreed. After their conversation, class began once again.

School ended, and the gang, including Shane and Clara, went to the movies. They were a big group and they went to a popular movie, so the entire group had to be separated into three different groups. Clara and Shane were inseparable, so they were together with Kousuke and Kei. The other two groups consisted of Hikaru, Kyle, Nitika, Ruya, and Damian, and Anastasia, Owen, Yvette, Omar, and Himiko.

The movie started and it went dark, that is when Yvette finally turned around and faced the movie screen, rather than looking at Kousuke. Kousuke was preoccupied himself. Instead of watching the movie commercials, he thought, “What IS Shane?! How did she get to the room before me, even though she went a completely different way? What happened to her during those six years? She is SO mysterious, that she is drawing me to her. What is this feeling of comfort when I am near her? I need to answer these questions soon, or they will not leave me alone.” When the commercials were over, Kousuke broke his train of thought, and watched the movie with content, for now.

When the movie ended, Yvette could not hold herself back anymore, so once they were all in the lobby, she jumped at Kousuke, grabbed his arm as hard as she could, and said, “How could you not sit by ME?! Instead, you sat next to her.” You could hear the density in her voice as she glared at Shane. Shane noticed the glare, but just ignored the two of them and started talking to Clara. Kousuke, a little embarrassed to have Yvette hanging on him in front of Shane, struggled his arm out of Yvette’s hold, and told her, “Stop it Yvette! We are NOT seeing each other anymore!” Everyone, except for Clara and Shane, who did not know what the heck was going on, was shocked by the news that came out of Kousuke’s mouth. “So, you are finally giving up on the entire relationship between you two, Kousuke?” asked Hikaru. Kousuke replied, “I had already given up on it, ever since we were in Okinawa!” “WHAT?! Really?!” everyone said unison.

“Do you know what is going on?” Clara asked turning to Shane. She was surprised to see shock and relief come across Shane’s face. Clara came up to Shane’s ear and whispered, “Is Kousuke the one you fell in love with when you were on your way home from traveling?” Shane quickly turned around, but unfortunately Clara and Shane smashed their heads together. They both fell on the floor, and the gang stopped talking and turned around to see what was going on. “Are you alright?” asked Himiko.

Shane and Clara looked up at each other, and Shane was about to say something, when two guys came up and asked the girls, “Are you two ok? We saw the whole thing.” The two guys helped Clara and Shane up. The boy that helped Shane up had gray eyes and black-blue hair, where the hair is black in shade and blue in light. The other guy, the one that helped Clara up, had red hair with clear blue eyes.

“They are pretty hot!” Ruya whispered to all of the other girls. Shane looked up and stood up as fast as she could. “What are YOU two doing here?!” Shane shouted. “Keep your voice down. You do not have to yell at us for being here. We wanted to see a movie, so we saw a movie. It is as simple as that,” the black-blue haired boy replied. “No. What are you doing here, in Tokyo?” Shane asked once again. “Oh, well, we were coming to visit Adrien, but I guess we ran into you instead. Why are you talking in Chinese anyway?” asked the red haired boy. Shane coughed, adjusted her voice, and said “Because that was the last place I was at before coming home. That’s been happening a lot lately. Clara have I been speaking Chinese this ENTIRE time?” “No, your speech was scattered,” replied Clara. “Darn it! Why did you not tell me earlier, Clara?” asked Shane. “Sorry, I did not realize that it was going to bother you,” Clara responded.

The gang was confused by their predicament, that everything became tense. Then Yvette butted in and said, “Well…do you guys know each other?!” The four of them turned their heads towards the group and simultaneously said, “Yes.” “Well, are you going to tell us how you know each other or no?” asked Hikaru. Shane looked back at the two boys and laughed. Unsure on why she was laughing, the gang waited for a real answer from Shane. “You see…these two are relatives of mine. I just consider them cousins. This is Spyros,” she said pointing at the boy with black-blue hair, “and this is Ryuji,” she said pointing at the red-headed boy. “Ryuji! Is that really you?! I did not recognize you,” Kyle said in reaction to the introductions. Ryuji looked up at him, the same time everyone in the gang turned and looked at him. “Is that you, Kyle?” Ryuji asked. “Yeah,” Kyle said in response.

After that response, Ryuji walked up to Kyle and gestured a handshake. When out of nowhere, Ryuji punched Kyle in the face. “What was that for?!” Kousuke shouted. “That was for leaving Shane with that witch of a mother. So there is A LOT more where that came from. Shane, why are you even talking let alone hanging out with this creep anyway?!” Ryuji asked with forcefulness in his voice. Shane replied with a smile, a little giggle, and with the few words, “I have my reasons.”

Ryuji and Spyros looked at each other and then at her, and Spyros said, “It better not be for a guy.” Shane just giggled as she heard their assumption. To break a bit more of the tension, Himiko asked, “Oh, so you were going to see Adrien?” Ryuji and Spyros looked at her in disbelief, and before they could say anything, Shane said, “They know Adrien from when I was living with him.” “Oh, well then that makes sense. Before we cause an even bigger scene, we better head over to Adrien’s house. So, we will see you two later, Shane, Clara. Oh, and Shane, say ‘hi’ to everyone at the house for us,” said Spyros. The two boys each kissed Shane and Clara’s cheeks, waved goodbye, and left. “Well, I will go home and prepare everything. All of you meet Clara right here, and I will get someone to take you to my house, ok?” Shane discussed with everyone. They all agreed and left the movie theater.
