Twilyte Time (4)

They finally passed the gardens and continued down a small path that was parallel to a small stream running down the hill. The path became slowly angled down the hill and in to what looked like a small village. The village was small and she could see only a few dozen houses that were separated by ether hedges or small stone walls. Kara led her in to the village and down a path that lead to a large house in the center.

She felt a little nervous as she continued to follow Kara around the side of the house on a solid path made of cobble stones that varied from brown to light red. It seemed like it took forever to walk around the house and they finally stopped at a small gate that connected a three foot stone wall on both sides. She hesitated, but Kara turned around and took her hand, and guided her through the gate

The back yard of the house was beyond description. The flower beds and small stone statues decorated multiple paths that branched off in different directions. She moved forward being guided still by Kara’s hand. She moved down the center path and through a small break in a hedge of red roses. They reached the center of the hedges and she could see circular patch of green grass, and on it were some stone benches and tables.

An older woman with long white hair sat at the center table and seemed to be putting together a beaded necklace. Kara pulled slightly on her hand and with out realizing it Gena moved forward toward the old woman and stopped less then three yards in front of her.

“Ah this must be the young woman that I have heard so much about over the last few weeks.” The older woman said politely. “She is everything thing you said Kara and more.”

“She has almost fully recovered.” Kara said politely. “I think she is ready to learn about what happened to her.”

“Where are my manners?” The old woman said. “My name is Sattara. I am the elder of this village.”

“Hello.” Gena said quietly. “My name is Gena Calvort.”

“Please have a seat and let us talk.” Sattara said with a gesture.

“Ok.” Gena responded immediately.

Gena felt so peaceful and comfortable in this garden. It was like everything around her was so full of life, and so amazingly brilliant with life. She looked around the garden and then back to Kara, who still stood smiling, and then finally back to Sattara who was patiently putting together the beaded necklace.

“You have been through a very traumatic event.” Sattara said calmly. “It is something nobody should ever have to be involved with, and we are working very hard to prevent these types of things in the future.”
