Now that I think about it, it is not really anime/mang related, so I will just keep this brief.
WizKids, the folks that do HeroClix and HorrorClix CMGs, announced that they will exclusive distrubtion through Diamond/Alliance in the hobby market.
This is bad, because every time a company has done something like this, they have ended up being hurt, and Alliance has walked feeling fine. Never mind the fact that Alliance has been pushing flooring on people, so that they hold your stock, don't pay you for it, and can hit you with returns whenever.
Either
a) WizKids ends up abandoning the hobby market
b) Wizkids changes its mind after it has been shafted for a bit.
c) Alliance shapes up and actually does a good job, but it still doesn't care much for anyone that doesn't move 500K a month, slapping the market around a little further.
Please note this is descending order of likelihood.
What does this mean for anime/manga? Very little, other another morality play about the dangers of selling/merging your company, for money does not compensate for your vision (Betting the Topps management thought this was a wonderful idea) and the dangers of centralizing rather than decentralizing your methods of reaching your end users...
