The Low Down on Princess Ai

 

 

Did you ever wonder what happen to Princess Ai after she left Earth to help the enslaved dougens in Ai- land? Who is Princess Ai’s mother? What was she like? Who is Queen Lilith, the woman that no one speaks of in Ai- land? Did Princess Ai lived happily ever after with Nora or did she return to Kent? There are so many questions unresolved at the end of Volume 3, but don’t worry….

 

I’ll let you in on my secret that only I know. Trust me; this secret story is good indeed so here it goes…..

 

Setting: Earth

 

Princess Ai wraps the Holy Tome book (with the heart shaped box inserted) close to her heart and closes her eyes. The book starts to glow and a sudden burst of light envelopes Princess Ai, Tess, Meggi, and Alexa. With a big flash of light, they disappear.

 

Setting: Ai- land

 

In a blink of an eye, Princess Ai and Tess appear in Ai- land, their wings flapping to keep them afloat in the air. Meggi and Alexa are no where to be seen. Perhaps they were transported to another area in Ai- land.

 

Princess Ai gasps as she sees the whole Ai- land covered in darkness. In every area, dougens and creatures alike were chained in the cages, bruises seen everywhere on the body, blood streaming down their arms and legs. Their pale face looking down and the sad expression filled with streaming tears is enough to make Princess Ai utter a cry of pain. It was brutal to see.

 

From afar, Nora and Kaz see Princess Ai’s arrival.

     

Nora:  Kaz, You stay here. I will go to Princess Ai and give her the news.

 

Kaz: Yes, the second revolution will soon begin.

 

Nora flies up to where Princess Ai is at. Princess Ai’s eyes elates with surprise and relief. She quickly throws herself in Nora’s arms and cries a bit. With his eyes closed, Nora hugs her tightly with his arms wrapped around her as if he has not seen her for ages.

 

Tess (interrupts): Ahem..

 

Nora opens his eyes to notice Tess is behind Princess Ai. Nora, feeling a bit awkward, loosens his grasp around Princess Ai and Princess Ai slowly pulls away. Nora flies to Tess.

 

Nora: Tess, you have done a good job. I am glad you became an ally to Princess Ai rather than an enemy as ordered from Kaz.

 

Tess: No problem, I have learned to fully place my trust in Ai as she is the one that would save this world. Our second revolution is her. What do we do now?

 

Nora: Tess, I plan for you to assist Princess Ai back to her kingdom and remain her body guard until the battle is over.

 

After giving the order, Nora turns to Princess Ai. Princess Ai who is still in awe that she is back in Ai- land, suddenly starts to talk excitedly.

 

Princess Ai: Nora, I am so happy to see you again! I found out my true powers and have come back to change everything.

 

Nora: Yes, Ai I have seen your powers on the other side. You should attend to your father, King Sei and tell him to end this cruelty he has created upon us, dougens. We are not at fault of Ai- Rosa’s death. There is no need to collect Tenketsu, our angel’s blood to gain power for revenge of one man’s mischievous deed. 

 

Princess Ai: Ai- Rosa’s death? Who is she? What revenge? What happened? Please tell me everything! I am desperate to know!

 

Nora:   Ai, I do not know the entire story, but I will tell you that your mother was one of us, a dougen. She was a beautiful lady with long flowing blonde hair, petite face, and tall with beautiful elegant wings. Her name was Ai- Rosa. Rumors of their love story have surfaced throughout Ai- land after Ai- Rosa died. This is what I hear, back then, Ai- Rosa was 18 years old and King Sei was 22 years old. They were young and King Sei greatly admired Ai- Rosa. They always meet each other secretly because the humans consider the dougens to be evil creatures. After several encounters, Ai- Rosa became pregnant and Sei was happy. Sei wanted to marry Ai- Rosa, but according to the human rules, marriage is forbidden between a human and a dougen. Sei built an unforeseen place below his kingdom to take care of Ai- Rosa and the unborn baby. Soon, Ai- Rosa gave birth to you, and both named you “Ai” to represent their “love” for one another.   Everything seemed fine in a kingdom filled with secrets. No one knew Ai- Rosa was living underneath the kingdom, but in a bundle of secrets inside the kingdom, it is hard to have secrets to end just there.

 

Another rumor I heard was Ai- Rosa who was walking down the forest with you (still a baby), and her ex, an Angel whose name is Drake appeared in front of her. Drake claimed he is the biological father of baby Ai. Ai- Rosa quickly denied such claim and returned to Sei’s kingdom. Drake did not stop questioning Ai- Rosa and eventually King Sei found out about this news. King Sei confronted Ai- Rosa. Ai- Rosa wept and admitted Ai is not his child. Drake who was nearby hears the news and claimed he would get Ai and Ai- Rosa back as he stated he is still in love with Ai- Rosa. This proclamation infuriated King Sei and Sei lashed out on Drake with his powerful staff.

There was a battle between King Sei and Drake. I do not know what happened, but Ai- Rosa died because of some accident. I do not know the nature of the accident, but I am certain King Sei is still angry that one of our own kinds has tried to steal his love away from him. As revenge, King Sei is punishing us by holding the dougens captive and stealing Angel’s blood to gain power to weaken us. This is all I know now, but quickly return to your kingdom and use your discovered power to heal the wounds of the victims, including your father, King Sei.

 

After listening to Nora’s last word, Princess Ai was in total shock as she absorbs the enormous amount of information of her real mother in which she had desperately sought to know. With tearful eyes, Princess Ai reaches down to take Nora’s hands.

 

Princess Ai: Nora, Thank you for telling me about my mother. I was always looking for any kind of truth about my mother every since I was young, but no one would tell me anything. Believe me, I will come back and free the dougens and prove that the races, human and dougen are capable of joining together to create a great life.

 

Nora: Ai, I have no doubts, but I believe in you. Please take care and return to me after you visit your kingdom.

 

Princess Ai: By the way, now that I know King Sei isn’t my biological father- how do you explain my royal birth mark?

 

Princess Ai lifts up her dress to reveal the royal birthmark on her upper right thigh. Nora unexpectedly sees the royal birthmark and quickly faces the other way.

 

Nora (with a blushed face): Ai, I do not know about that. It is best if someone close to you answers that.

 

Tess: Girl, put that dress down! We have to get going now.

 

Setting: King Sei’s Kingdom

 

Princess Ai and Tess flies away from Nora and heads North West where King Sei’s kingdom lies. At the peak of the Golden Palace, Princess Ai and Tess lands at the front steps of King Sei’s Kingdom. Princess Ai slowly walks towards the entrance and opens the door. Tess follows and enters the kingdom, but suddenly finds herself and Ai swarmed around by human guards with swords. Tess quickly ignites fire and just as she is about to attack the guards, Ai’s tutor, Lissa runs up to the guards.

 

Lissa: STOP GUARDS! DO NOT ATTACK! It is Princess Ai, King Sei’s daughter. If anyone harms a hair on her, I will have you beheaded at a moment’s notice.

 

The guards quickly put down their swords and backs away from Princess Ai and Tessa. Lissa, wearing her usual shawl and black dress runs up to Ai with sudden relief.

 

Lissa: Princess Ai!! My goodness, where have you been? You look so different! Your wings! How did it grow so big!

 

Lissa turns to see Tess next to Princess Ai and is in shocked.

 

Lissa: Ai, who is this next to you? We do not welcome furies in this kingdom. You should know that!

 

Tess’s face cringed at Lissa’s hostility and takes a step forward to Lissa as if she is about to slap her. Princess Ai quickly pats Tess on the shoulder to calm her down. Princess Ai turns to Lissa.  

 

Princess Ai: Oh Lissa! How I have missed you so! Don’t worry, Tess is my confidential friend and she is not a threat to anyone. At the moment, she is my body guard and has protected me several times when I was in Earth.

 

Lissa: Oh, I am glad to hear, but it is quite ironic. We, humans do not mesh well with the dougens and furies. Your father despises them with hatred.

 

Princess Ai: Lissa, I know, but I have found out something while I was away. I am a dougen too. My red wings are the living proof of my true identity. I am not allergic to the heart shaped box made of Tenketsu, Angel’s blood.

 

Lissa is surprised and concerned as she know Princess Ai knew the truth to everything.

 

Lissa (hesitant): Princess Ai, how much do you know about yourself?

 

Princess Ai: Nora told me about Ai- Rosa, my real mother, Drake, her ex, and King Sei’s rage at Drake for trying to steal Ai- Rosa away from him. Nora spoke of the battle between them, but did not know what happened. Ai- Rosa died of some accident, but he does not know the whole story. Lissa, can you please tell me what happened?

 

Lissa: Oh dear, those rumors were meant to be locked away from you. If King Sei ever knew you know about this, you will be locked away or worst yet, kill Nora who I know is important to you.

 

Princess Ai:  I already know this much, please tell me the rest of what you know. I want to get to the bottom of everything so I can clear up any misunderstanding that King Sei has on the dougens. Is it true that King Sei is not my biological father? Why do I keep hearing about Queen Lilith if she is not my real mother?

 

Lissa (Sigh):      I suppose there is no point in hiding the truth anymore. Ai- land has become like this because of this hidden secret. Back then, King Sei had an arranged marriage with the daughter of another royal family, Lilith. At first sight, Lilith loved Sei very much. Unfortunately, Sei did not return her love. After they were married, Lilith would try to win King Sei’s heart, but Sei always traveled outside of the kingdom. Little did Lilith know the reason Sei was always out was to be with another women. Queen Lilith often question King Sei, but Sei denies such rumors. After years of frustrations and unrequited love, Queen Lilith became ill. She hid in her room for months. She heard rumors from servants that Sei had an illegitimate child, Ai whose mother is a dougen and was living beneath their kingdom. Queen Lilith became depressed.

During that time, a rumor circulating about Ai’s biological father was the buzz of the town. Some people witness the battle between King Sei and Drake. They say during the battle, Drake hid baby Ai under his abundant full of feathers as a threat to King Sei if he did not leave Ai- Rosa, Drake will abuse Ai even if it is his own. In great fury, King Sei used his sacred staff to conjure a powerful force towards Drake, but Ai- Rosa ran in front of Drake, grabbed baby Ai from Drake’s wings, and threw her toward a bush filled with soft leaves. Sadly, Ai- Rosa did not escape in time. She and Drake took the dreadful attack and both died. King Sei was shocked and held withering Ai- Rosa in his arms. Ai- Rosa’s last plea was for King Sei to take care of baby Ai.

            As King Sei kept his promise, he took baby Ai back to his kingdom, but he did not hid her beneath the kingdom. I was present during that time. I saw King Sei went into Queen Lilith and heard King Sei ask Queen Lilith to accept baby Ai as her own and promise to treat her better as his wife. Every since that day, I always hear Queen Lilith crying every day. King Sei was annoyed by the numerous rumors that you were not his own. He used his sacred staff and branded his royal birthmark on your upper right thigh.

 

Princess Ai (gasp): Oh my god!! That must have hurt so much! That explains why I have the royal birthmark even though I am not a human.

 

Lissa: Not really, it was magic.

 

Princess Ai: Oh. Is this why King Sei often threatens me to not show my wings to anyone or it will confirm I am not a pure human?

 

Lissa: Yes, Princess Ai. I am certain that may be the case. I feel bad that you were born to hate your beautiful wings.

 

Princess Ai: What ever happen to Queen Lilith?

 

Lissa: Poor Lilith, how much can a fragile person take? Months later, Queen Lilith died with a broken heart.

 

Princess Ai’s head was down and a red tear streams down her face, but she looks up to Lissa with a determined face.

 

Princess Ai: Lissa, Thank you for telling me all this. I must stay strong and help clear everything to King Sei.so he can end the cruelty he has imposed on the dougens. Where is King Sei?

 

Lissa: He is in the garden.

 

Princess Ai turns to Tess.

 

Princess Ai: Tess, lets go!

 

Tess: Yup, let’s end this and give the dougens the freedom they deserve.

 

Lissa: Princess Ai, please be careful. King Sei is very powerful. He would definitely be angry when he sees your wings.

 

Princess Ai: Don’t worry Lissa. With my inner powers, I am confident that it will heal his wounds and everyone who has suffered in Ai- land.

 

Princess Ai and Tess run down the corridor and fly toward the garden in the North East of the kingdom.

 

Setting: Garden

 

Princess Ai and Tess land in the Garden and see King Sei feeding the birds. Upon Princess Ai’s arrival, King Sei looks at Ai. His peaceful expression turns into confusion and then anger.

 

King Sei: AI! WHAT IS WITH THOSE WINGS? THEY SHOULD NOT BE SEEN! WHY IS A FURIE HERE?

 

Princess Ai: FATHER, stop this MADNESS. I know everything now! I know how you feel. Ai- Rosa’s death has nothing to do with the dougens. It was an accident. Please, let them go! It was all Drake’s fault, don’t blame the whole race!

 

King Sei in rage, pointed his sacred staff to Princess Ai, but could not conjure anything. Alarmed at the potential attack, Tess flies up to King Sei and ignites fire. In defense, King Sei attacks Tess. In shock, Princess Ai tells them to stop fighting, but to no avail. Princess Ai starts to sing.

 

Princess Ai: 

 

It is dark in here

I can’t see anything, but your anger

I can feel your pain of loneliness.

Stop crying, stop hiding, stop fighting, stop this madness

We can unveil the light to freedom

Bright light shining everywhere with all its might

Free the dougens and yourself form this danger

 

Let go of this hatred, let go of your pain

Free your hate so it can return to love

Quit making the dougens cry like rain

Together with the dougens, we can create something great

You and I, lets rock this place back in place

I will give you the strength

For I am your daughter

 

As Princess Ai sings, scattering crystals of light circles surround Princess Ai. The crystals spread throughout Ai- land, illuminating light everywhere. Slowly, each dark area of Ai- land became bright. King Sei’s sacred staff drops to the ground and Tess backs away. King Sei’s eyes became teary.   

 

King Sei: What is this? I feel this warmth- this feeling that I have not felt for such a long time since I met Ai- Rosa. Why do I feel this way?

 

Princess Ai: Father, this feeling is her love to you from me.

 

King Sei (amazed): I understand now. After her death, I have locked away my inner feelings. My anger just built up day by day. I was so mad at Drake and every dougen alike, but I didn’t hate you. You are the last gift from her.

 

Princess Ai: I know that. Even though you are not my real father, I still think you are my father.

 

King Sei felt touched by Princess Ai’s words. King Sei stood up and opens his arms to Princess Ai. Princess Ai swoops down and hugs King Sei. Later, King Sei pulls away from Princess Ai with a concerned look

 

King Sei: Oh! What have I done? I have harmed Ai- Rosa’s race. I am so ashamed.

 

Princess Ai: Father, it is not too late. Just tell all the humans to stop the enslavement and free them now! We are capable of joining our races together and create a happy future in Ai- land.

 

King Sei: I hope so, but not all humans think like that. We, humans consider the dougen to be horrible and evil creatures. But I will do everything in my power to change the course of events! You have my word, my daughter.

 

Without a minute lost, King Sei takes his sacred staff and announces to everyone in Ai- land to free the dougens and angels. The humans who were on guard uttered a strong protest to such an order. As protest, the humans reacted more strongly toward the abuse of the enslaved. Out of nowhere, Meggi and Alexa appear and attack the humans with their arrows.

 

From afar, Princess Ai sees the chaos.  She flies up to the peak of the kingdom, closes her eyes, her hands close to her heart, and silently sings. More crystals of light scatter around her and travel toward the mad humans. Suddenly, the humans stop attacking and are in awe by the magnified warmth surrounding them. Slowly, the humans unlock the cage and unchain the dougens.

 

Instantly, the dougens fall to the floor in pain. Up in the air, Princess Ai feels their throbbing pain. Her hands clasp more strongly together and Ai silently says….

 

Princess Ai: I am a creator, a provider of love. Heal everyone’s wounds.  

 

Glimmering soft red feathers started to fall off of Princess Ai’s wings and turns into multiples of sparkling red dust. The red dust travels to the dougens lying on the ground and just like a miracle, heals the bleeding wounds on their body. 

 

From a distant, Nora sees Princess Ai’s feathers disappearing each minute. As each minute passes, Princess Ai looks weak and appears to look as if she is going to faint. Nora quickly flies up to Princess Ai and catches her in his arms.

 

Nora: Princess Ai! Are you O.K?

 

Princess Ai (partially fainted): Nora? Is that you?

 

Before Nora can answer, Princess Ai completely faints.

 

Setting: Nora’s Kingdom

 

Princess Ai is lying peacefully on the bed. She slowly wakes up to see Nora looking at her.

 

Princess Ai: Nora! What just happened? The last thing I remember, I was up in the air using all my energy to heal everyone.

 

Nora: Yes, Princess Ai. Your positive energy has finally reached the humans to change. Your love for everyone has healed their wounds from your feathers.

 

Princess Ai: My feathers?

 

Princess Ai turns to look at her back to see her wings gone!

 

Princess Ai: Oh My God! What happened to my wings?

 

Nora: It appears your red feathers represented your love to everyone and it was used to heal those that are in pain.  Do not worry; your wings will grow back if it is needed.

 

Princess Ai: That is such a relief! I mean I look pretty darn hot with it, don’t cha think?

 

Nora (blushing): uh.. Yes

 

Princess Ai: Nora, what happened after I fainted?

 

Nora: The second revolution has been a success between the two races, thanks to you, Princess Ai.  Now, humans and dougens do not hate each other, but treat each other like kind neighbors. Your positive energy and love was so great that it is felt within each person’s heart.

 

Princess Ai (teary): That is wonderful!

 

With her hands, Princess Ai wipes away her tears. Nora leans down to Princess Ai and hugs her. In shock, Princess Ai stays still. Nora, notices this awkwardness and slowly pulls away.

 

Nora: Princess Ai, is there something you want to tell me?

 

Princess Ai: uh nothing, I am just tired.

 

Nora: Very well, I will leave you to rest. You may attend to your father when you are well rested. Your father is very proud of you and is making arrangements to build a grand place for the dougens and humans to socialize. Ai- land is unified between the two races now.  

 

Princess Ai: O I am glad my father has changed. He is finally healed. Thank you, Nora.

 

3 Months Passed. Within those months, Nora and Princess Ai’s relationship was hard to define. At times, Princess Ai shows great care to Nora, but there are times when she is withdrawn. Nora notices this and decides to resolve this once and for all.

 

Setting: Nora’s Garden

 

Nora and Princess Ai walks around the garden.

 

Nora: Princess Ai, is there someone you have in your heart?

 

Princess Ai: What? What do you mean? You know how I feel about you.

 

Nora: Not really. You appear fickle and I feel your heart is not whole- heartedly towards me. I want an explanation. Remember, you can be honest. I will understand.

 

Princess Ai (hesitant): Nora.. I.. I do have someone else in my heart from Earth.

 

Nora: Is it Kent?

 

Princess Ai (nods): Yes.. I feel I have gone through so much with him back in Earth. We share the same thought that two people should be together to accomplish things rather than to leave one behind just to protect your loved one. Nora, I am so sorry. I don’t want to hurt your feelings. I do care about you, but it is not the same love as I have for Kent.

 

Princess Ai starts to cry. Nora approaches Princess Ai and takes her hand.

 

Nora: Ai, I am amazed how you have matured so much after you left.  You are more mature than me. I always thought sending you away would protect you, but you still have to struggle so much. It made no difference. It does take two people to accomplish things and I believe Kent has made you become who you are right now, a strong woman.

 

Princess Ai: No, Nora don’t say that. You only sent me away to protect me from the raging war. You are still special to me.

 

Nora: Ai, it is alright. I truly understand. You are special to me, but I think I have lost my chance when I sent you away. Everything happens for a reason. Even though we had a short time being together, it was enough for me to be happy. Ai, you should return to Earth and be with Kent. I want you to be happy too.

 

Princess Ai (teary eyes): Oh Nora! You are so selfless. Why are you so nice to me?

 

Nora: Ai, I am sure Kent’s love for you is very deep. Your journey with him is incomparable with mines.  I can not be selfish and keep you here while your heart is somewhere else. It makes no sense to me. Don’t cry, if you need anything, just call my name and I will come to you.

 

Princess Ai: Oh Nora! What can I do for you to repay your kindness towards me?

 

Nora: Nothing Ai, just follow your heart and continue to sing to the audience that loves you. From the other side, I can always hear your powerful voice emitting positive energy to everyone in Ai- land.

 

Princess Ai hugs Nora with immense gratitude. Fa’an suddenly appears. Princess Ai sees Fa’an.     

 

Fa’an: Yo! I forgot to congratulate you on your success, Princess Ai.

 

Princess Ai: Fa’an! Aren’t you a bit too late to say that now? Where were you?

 

Fa’an: Sorry! I was so busy chilling with my guitar, but I did watch over you from afar. Anyhow, I am here to take you back.

 

Princess Ai turns to Nora and bids farewell. Fa’an turns into a huge eagle and Princess Ai hops on his back. At a shining stream of light, Princess Ai lands on Kent’s apartment with a * thump*.

 

Setting: Kent’s apartment

 

Princess Ai looks around the room with her eyes squinting and sees it is night time. Kent wakes up from the noise. Kent looks at the mysterious figure on the ground.

 

Kent: Who’s there?

 

Princess Ai: Kent? Is that you?

 

Kent: Ai?

 

Kent quickly gets up from his bed and opens his light. Kent’s eyes open more widely as he sees Ai. Without wasting a minute, Kent quickly dashes to Ai and hugs her with utmost affection. In return, Ai hugs and cries.

 

Kent: Ai, I miss you a lot and I can’t stop thinking about you. How were you able to come back? What happen to your beautiful wings? What happen to Ai-land? Is everything fine?

 

Princess Ai: I miss you so much too! It is such a long story. Are you ready to stay up all night?

 

Kent: I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

 

Princess Ai: Well, here goes…

 

Therein lies Princess Ai and Kent sitting on the middle of the floor. Princess Ai retells the whole story that you have read so far while Kent pays full attention. As each word comes out from Princess Ai, Kent’s face is filled with astonishment.  

 

The next morning, Kent and Ai are walking down the bustling crowded streets. Both are happily talking to each other face to face. However, they are interrupted by a figure who steps into their path. Without looking ahead, Princess Ai bumps into the figure. Ai falls down. Out of rage, Ai looks up and is about to yell, but to her surprise; it is someone she knew a long time ago.

 

Princess Ai: Takeshi!

 

Takeshi: Well, well, well. Didn’t bother to call me out for a drink eh?

Princess Ai: I just got back in town. What’s the rush?

 

Takeshi: Of course there is a rush; Club Cupid wants that Diva back who took a long break!

 

Princess Ai: Ha ha ha.

 

Takeshi: Care to return?

 

Princess Ai: You bet!

 

Setting: Club Cupid

 

With shimmering lights dashing across the stage, Princess Ai appears in her usual amazing Ai’s style Lolita dress (with decorated wings on her back that Kent and Ai put together because Ai just misses her wings!).

 

Princess Ai: Hey Everyone! Are you guys ready?!?

 

Crowd (excited): YES!!!

 

Princess Ai: Well, here goes!!!

 

At a distance from Club Cupid, the exuberant crowd kept shouting “Princess Ai” in unison as she sings. Meanwhile on the other side, Nora smiles happily.

 

The End

 

Hey you, I’ll let you in another secret. After Princess Ai’s concert, I sneaked backstage and asked for her autograph and a picture with me. She was taken by surprise, but she wasn’t mad. I asked a guy to take the picture for us. Everything seemed fine when we posed, but I didn’t expect Princess Ai to be so hyper about her picture being taken that she almost strangled me. If that isn’t enough, Princess Ai’s fake wings started to fall off and… that was when the guy snapped the photo. The picture is seen above. It may not be a perfect shot, but it was memorable. =)
