Daemonium - Editor's Notes

EDITOR'S INTRODUCTION
Horror is a genre that’s hard to do successfully in manga. It relies so much on music and the movie director controlling what you see and when you see it. It’s just difficult to make a book that scary. That challenge is what first attracted me to Daemonium and I hope it will cast a spell on readers as well. As the editor, what excited me about the project was combining horror elements with hot bishonen characters. Kosen has previously worked on boys love manga. So while this series isn’t that kind of book, it does feature some nice eye candy. And inspired by their favorite horrific video games, Daemonium is full of just flat out creepy stuff!

When I visited Kosen’s house in Spain last year, I got to see a student film that they had made that was very much inspired by Silent Hill. It featured a bandaged zombie like guy with giant rusty nails sticking out of his body. I got a strong sense of how passionate this team is when it comes to their creations! And that’s the same kind of passion and twisted-ness that went into Daemonium.
