This series, at least so far, is an interesting story. The fact that the three main characters are simply looking for a comfortable family life is rather child-friendly. I'm not much of a gore fan myself, but I don't mind blood. In fact, blood is rather well done in this series. The art is quite beautiful, hauntingly so. If I didn't know better, I'd say all three characters were some immortal creature. The storyline is a little twisted, in my opinion, but the romance/family bond between Masato and Ushitora, (whichever the reader wants to believe) is quite moving, as their relationship is rather strained at the same time. Nao is also a character that many young girls would identify with, since everyone has to lean on someone, even if they hide it, and she is a well balanced character to keep the two older boys together. It is a very good series and I would recommend it to any that don't mind blood in their reading, but are rather lenient toward sentimental stories.
