Chapter 1: The Bond of the Human and the Werewolf Shia stretched, her bed was so warm compared to the coldness of the woods they had once lived in the old village. But the village had been destroyed because of the Wolf-Strangers-humans. Shia held direct hate for them, all they did was harm her people-and destroy the woods of which her kin lived in. Her people had to soon be forced to move away from their kin that lived among them in the forest. Shia's eyes rested on where, Tobias, Shia's younger brother was curled up to his twin sister-and Shia's younger sister-Mishay. Both seemed as if they would sleep forever in their small little bed they shared. Shia's eyes darted to Uncle Mascho and Aunt Elliouse, then to her cousin Keller. Shia stuck out her tounge at Keller who was fast asleep, but his eye darted open eyeing Shia for a moment who acted innocent, then closed again falling back into sleep. "Don't bother them, Shia." her father's voice came from the small kitchen inside the small apartment the small family of werewolves shared. Both her mother and father's parents were on the oppisite side of the room and her parents shared a small chair-bed(I guess the man who let them rent the place for a small pay each month called it a couch-bed) in the Middle room where a small box with buttons lay in front. Her and her siblings-along with her cousin, Keller, were amused to see tiny humans show up in the box with their tiny houses. It had puzzled them all until a neighbor explained it to be a "Television", her parents and her aunt and uncle had frowned at it, but ignored the wierd name for the box. "But, Papa, I want to play." Shia growled, pouting. "There's not time to play right now, Shia, we have to get this 'Human School' sorted out, we have to blend in with the humans since we were forced to move from our forest into this place buzzing with humans." her father growled annoyed still about losing their home to the humans-the same Shia had been. "It's hard enough that we can't make a fire to heat our food-let alone eat plants!" Shia remembered having to go with her mother and sister to the wierd building filled with tons of wasted food. She remembered the basket a lady instructed the put the things they wanted to buy. They had shoved almost the whole meat aisle into the basket-but they had only three baskets that they could push. So we had to live off of that. "I have to cook stuff in this wierd thing that human-man called a stove-or we may get to eat it raw if we want." "Sometimes that gives Grandma Sophie tummy-aches though!" Shia reminded her mother. "We're going to have to do what we can to live, Shia." my father growled, looking at a series of schools the area-New York City the humans called it-listed for schools. "And we do know how hard you are trying, Shaley." he looked at my mother. "I know, Shamon." my mother looked at my father and they shared a mushy gushy moment. I snorted at the moment my parents shared in disgust, and walked on my two feet to look at what my father had scrolled out across the paper. The human language was written all over the papers-it was so easy to speak that even I could understand it-Errington Junior High was listed the Human School we were being sent to. The thought of it annoyed me and made me miss the schooling I got in the woods on how to survive as a Werewolf, I gripped the table with my hand, and my hand formed into the paw of a Werewolf. "Relax, Shia, it's not as bad as you think-you already know about almost every thing there is to know to be a wolf-and I'm proud of you." my father's words burned into my ears, and I relaxed at his strong voice, "Think of it as a good thing-you and Keller can explore this school and learn how to be human-you may be able to form a friendly bond with some humans." my father's voice cracked a little-even if a human didn't know what we were-the words of Milikash became true. They hated us-they didn't know why and we didn't know why-it was something that came natarul to them-even in our human form. "I guess it may happen." I sat down in the hard chair the humans used, "I mean the worst that can happen is if I change into the true Werewolf form of myself." I looked at my hand, the paw of Milikash was shadowed into it. When a human saw it they said my "birthmark" reminded them of a wolf's paw. I just laughed pretending to be amused by it and acted like it was something I got alot. But sometimes I wondered how they would react if they knew what it was-but I never really got that close to actual humans-cause if they spent long enough with me-their Senses burned into them and they grew unknown hate towards me. "Good luck in human school, Shia!" my brother and sister hugged me saying words at the same time, as mine and Keller's bus started down the road, "You too Keller!" they ran to hug my cousin. He patted their heads, then they let go. They were also waiting to go their Human School-the human-lady on the phone told my dad they belonged in a lower grade that wasn't avaible at our school-they said something like the 6th grade, whatever that means. All I know is Keller in I are in the Human Grade-8th grade. "You two behave at your human school too!" Keller smiled, showing his pointy teeth, and suddenly his tail popped out of the back of his pants. He was clearly happy, but I almost screamed as I noticed it. If anyone saw it would be horrible for all of the Werewolves around the Green Planet. "Keller, your tail!" I whispered in shock. "Eh?" he relaxed and his tail dissapeared, "Sorry." he shrugged, and the bus came to a stop. As we entered the bus, no one seemed aware of Keller or my own true being. They all looked bored, and the bus was packed with tons of humans, the stench of the bus made me cough. And there were only two seats left-seperating me from Keller. At the same time I was greatful-and ungreatful. I sat down at the first closest seat and watched as my cousin walked to the farthest. I turned my head to see what human I was sharing my seat with, the human stared out the window, "We have to travel thirty minutes of woods because the school is so far out from the city, I hope your not allergic to anything in there." the human sounded almost sarcastic, and from his looks and the feelings I could feel flowing off him were male. "Why would I be allergic to the woods?" I almost growled, but took back the anger of the stupidity of the human, "I used to live close the woods." I lied a little-I actually lived in the woods...but that would cause not only suspisition maybe of something but also strange looks from the way humans acted. "I used to live near the woods too," his eyes stayed away from the window for a moment, but went back to looking out of it, "I hope your not scared of what lives inside the woods." he started. The feelings that flowed off of him were almost full of memmories and sorrow, but also some feeling that he was trying to scare me. "What would be so scary that's inside the woods, bears?" I laughed, hoping he wasn't suspecting anything from me. This human held a frustrating aura around him, I never felt any living creature so troubled and full of secrets. But I knew that by his other feelings he had a strong feeling in believing and faith. "No-" he was interrupted by the shouts of other human-pups in the bus. They all seemed shock, and some looked frightened. Most of the human girls were screaming. But the look on the Human-male I was sitting next to looked a little excited more then shocked-no feeling off fright flowed off of him which impressed me. But I could tell I probably looked excited too, I felt the presence of my kin very close. I stood up to look what was going on in front of the the human monster-they call it a bus. And it had completely stopped, the male stood up beside me, "It's actual wolves!" he smiled at me, he didn't look as if he was interested in challenging me anymore. "I can see that!" I glared at him, but he really didn't notice. I looked at my kin as they stared me back in the eyes, they looked protective. I could make out the words one of my kin snarled..."Aurf yarsnarf sshff?" the wolf that spoke it was the biggest out of the group, he looked alert but helt his big bushy tail in the air making sure the male and female behind him didn't attack the Human monster before he got a sign from us.
Are you safe? "Jas..." I whispered into the air to the dominant male, I held my palm in the air, and my cousin did the same, I could see him from the corner of our eyes, and finally I let my hand drop to my side. All of the humans seemed to have relaxed and looked more interesting at the wolves, but I could feel the male human staring at me.
Yes... "What was that?" the male asked, but I was too busy trying to hear the words of my kin. "Rarf Scaraff Gaff Triff..." he took one last look at the human monster and nodded for the two other two of my kin follow him. They followed and I could make out the whisper of the female wolf.
We shall go then... "Fras Cssk." the female whispered, and the three wolves dissapeared into the woods.
Be careful. "That was awesome!" the male whispered, as we all sat down. Keller and I shared a quick look then went back to what we had done before. I looked at the male human, he had brown hair and green eyes. It was unusual for a human to have such green eyes-I've only seen Werewolves with such green eyes, but this human had no sign to be a werewolf. My cousin, Keller, had green eyes like this human's, me and my father had amber eyes, my mother and the twins had yellow eyes, my uncle had blue, and my aunt had light green eyes. It was normal for wolves to have such strange colors of eyes, of course, but for a human to have such deep detailed eyes like ours was different-but I guess he was just different, "You like wolves?" I looked at him. "Yeah, I love wolves." he smiled, "But what I'm really obsessed with is werewolves." he shrugged, "It's wierd, I know. And a fairytale..." he seemed frustrated at the word fairytale-and I felt the emotion of belief flow off of him, "But it's just my thing, I guess." I was unable to answer him, instead I changed the subject, "What's your name?" I caught myself a little before I said the word human. I twitched slightly, I knew that it may be bad to get close to a human-but this human was a bit different-even if I couldn't stand his frustrating aura. "Johnathen Milishank." he shrugged at me, it startled me, Mili means friend-and shank means human. I was trying to remember the old tale that went along with such the familiar word. "What about you?" I think he was asking for my name. "Shia Milikash." Then I realised it. My last name was so similar to his for a reason...kash means wolf. He was about to say something when we stopped at the school, and people started rushing out in a hurry for some reason, all I could do was follow them to where they were going. "This is boring." Keller growled under his breath, he looked at the wierd thing they gave us for lunch. It had a small meat smell, but it was covered up by the two pieces of bread on each side of the meat, along with a strong smell. As Keller opened the bread it revealed a small slice of turkey-a rare kind of bird found in the forest we came from-it looked appitizing except for the yellow sauce smeared all over it. "This looks revolting!" Keller snarled. "That's because you're eating it wrong." a familar voice came from beside me, I turned to see Johnathen Milishank sitting beside me. I almost let out a growl but stopped myself, "You're supposed to eat it like this," he showed taking a bite into the wierd expirement, "Haven't you ever eaten a sandwich before?" he looked at Keller as if he was an idiot. I could feel a strange feeling flowing off of Johnathen followed by the feeling of challenging. Keller took it as usual, he put the two pieces of bread back on the sandwich, "Easy!" he took a bite, and suddenly spit it out, "Could do without the bread-but that yellow stuff tastes good." "Does this sandwhich taste good?" I examined it, I tipped my head to the side looking at it. It looked kind of good-but what about the bread. Usually bread tastes kind of bland-but I guess it would taste good with that yellow stuff. "Depends on what kind you like..." he looked at me, suddenly a group of girls sat on the other side of the table. They started talking in some wierd slang I didn't understand. My dark brown hair looked so dark compared to all the other girl's. They had flowing blonde and red hair-they were such strange colors. "Who are they?" I looked at the girls unamused by their wierd language, it was english-but not original english. I watched as a guy sat down at the table, he had dark eyes, and Keller looked alarmed at him. He felt familiar to me but I ignored it as Johnathen talked. "Cheerleaders..." he looked at me strangely, he must seem it was wierd for me to not know that. By the look on his face he was suspecting I should know because of my gender. I shrugged, a little confused by this all. "And who are you?" Keller growled, looking at both boys, confused as just as I was. Suddenly the boy that was sitting beside Keller, reached for my hand. "Pleased to meet you." he looked at me with his dark brown eyes, I reached to shake his hand, but he turned it face up. It alarmed me at first-he was one of us-meaning he was a werewolf, but he shook my hand. He had a strange aura, but I didn't question him. "I'm Farrel Millikrash." he slightly smiled showing bright white pointed teeth-mostly to Keller. Keller smiled back slightly, letting a low growl form in his throat showing warning, "I'm Keller Milikash." he looked at me, with warning eyes to stay away from this werewolf, I nodded back ackknowledging the feeling this unfamiliar werewolf was giving off. "I'm Johnathen Milishank." he seemed a little confused at the last names-we all had similar last names, but he seemed to scared at the sight of the two boys glares exchanging between eachother. "You can call me John though..." he tried to lighten up the table a bit. "Well, I'm hungry." I started eating the sandwich-it tasted very good-even for me-a werewolf. John laughed smiling at me, the feelings flowing off of him now, felt good. And I couldn't help but smile back at him. I think I'm afraid now...of losing this human. I wanted to save this moment. "What are the worst kind of werewolves, grandpa?" the question came from my cousin Allison. He stopped in the middle of the story, and he thought for a moment. He seemed deep into sad thought. The curious eyes of us all burned at the same question, What was the worst kind? I seemed to wonder the same thing. What if I ever met an actual werewolf...what was the worst kind? "Well-female werewolves are less aggressive-unless it involves their pups or mates. The adult male or a young werewolf-some female pups are less aggressive still though." my great great grandfather smiled at me, "One day, John, you may meet one!" Suddenly his grandfather dissapeared-John aged to his current age as he was lost in the woods. All he could do was run towards the light that was shining in seemed to be the middle of the forest. He felt cold and frightened for some reason. Suddenly he fell on a tree branch, and the whispers of words of a language he couldn't understand became louder and louder... Fras cssk...Frasrerrg...Hshhs Currf...Hshhs Currf...Sshvuff hsherr... I looked up at the sound of fast beating steps-they were the sound of a wolf coming faster towards me. I struggled to get up, mud was all over me, I was stuck, all I could do was duck my head, but as I looked up one last time-the wolf leapt towards me. My face was struck in horror, I closed my eyes quickly and covered my face.
