I think they completely ruined this story with the movie they have created. If I was Christopher Paolini, I would be suing them. Now, I completely loved the books Eragon and Eldest, and am jumping around waiting for Inheritence to come out. Since the books were soooo good, I expected much from the movie. Now every other book-turned-film has come out well. Sticking to the major story plots, possibly cutting out the ones that had little to do with the story. But this, THIS WAS BUTCHERED!!!!! They cut out the training, the hardships, the battles that occured as the travelled the country side to reach the varden. They cut out soooo much of the main story plot, and it looked like the entire story took place in two, maybe three days, instead of the actual weeks or months! Sapphira flew a lot, and you could get vertigo from some of those camera shots they pulled. And Sapphira! URG! They had her grow up in an instant, right before our eyes, instead of the months that that took! and all of a sudden they had a bond? I don't think so. And Aariyah! Love develops between her and eragon, and they barely show it! She's just kinda there. And they don't even mention the fact that he has to go to her people and train there for magic, just like he has to train with the varden for strength! And the major fight scene at the end?? HA!!! What a joke! You didn't see the heart breaking, the fact that it should have taken longer then 10 minutes, and that people are supposed to run through the tunnels after the escapees, his friend is supposed to disappear, the battles supposed to happen in two different spots (maybe three) and that the shade was already gone (I'm pretty sure). But you don't see the mages that are supposed to be helping eragon or the dwarven king he meets and receives armor from. They cut out every little thing that made the book so spectacular! And I am royally pissed about that. No wonder my cousin absolutely refuses to see the movie!
I know! I love Eragon and Eldest. Just by watching the movie trailer I could complain about many details that were missing or stuff they added in that was wrong. I am also pissed and hope that I will never have to watch that movie ever. I wonder how the movie would seem to someone who hasn't read the books.
