Today we saw a sample copy of volume
two in our offices and we're so excited! You readers will be happy to know that
we've heard your comments and critiques and have definitely taken that advice
into account for this summer's issue.
For example, our patterns for this
issue are at the back of the Bible... and are PERFORATED! :) Hopefully they're a
little easier to read this time around, too. We've also included up-to-date
clothing from the Japanese brands, and included interviews with some of the
famous Lolitas you've been longing to hear about! The photos and articles look
absolutely stunning, and we can't wait until you readers can check it out!
(Okay, okay, I'm tooting my own horn-but hey, it's hard not to be proud when
you put so much hard work into something! We hope you like it, we really do!)
It will be released in stores around late June. It seems like such a long time
from now, but hopefully you'll find it worth the wait!
Of course, we've worked far ahead on
the content that you'll see in volume 2! In fact, we're working on the fall
issue right now, which will be in stores in September, and our offices are
already filling up with Halloween and fall goodies to present to you!
For example, we just got a new batch of
wonderful wigs-this time from International Wig
( www.internationalwig.com )!
Of course, we know that wigs and Lolita go together all year 'round, but
they're also especially fun for putting that extra "ohhh ahhh!" in your
friends' expressions when it comes costume season.
Some of our new content for our fall
issue will be coverage of a BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT Halloween party,
spooky Halloween recipes, and an interview with Blasphemina's Closet designer
Samanatha Rei (okay, that last one's off topic to this post, 'cause it has
nothing to do with Halloween-but we love Samantha and couldn't resist the
chance to plug her, and we promise the interview's going to be really great)!
Hey, while we're on the topic, we'd
love to see what some of you Lolitas wear for Halloween! Do you Loli-fy your
favorite character? Dress up super Goth if you're usually super Sweet, or vice
versa? Or do you stay away from Lolita completely? How about the Goths? Do you
guys like to sweeten it up for Halloween? Or dress up like your favorite
musician?
Tell us about your past Halloween
costumes or plans for the future-or better yet, show us! Send us your pics to
GLBSubmissions@tokyopop.com ! (Make sure they're at least 300 dpi though, or we
won't be able to include them in the mook.)
And remember, we're still accepting
submissions for our regular Reader's Snaps section for Lolitas and Goths NOT in
costume, so send those photos our way, as well!

I managed to find a copy of the second volume early in the Anime North dealer's room. It is quite lovely, I must say.
