Chapter 7- Interaction
Razel had just woken up. His shades were closed but his window was open. He could hear the hustle and bustle of the city. He sat up and got out of bed. Making his way to the window he opened his shades and saw it was midday. Shocked, he ran to a clock and saw it was almost noon. “Damn it, I’m late!” He said running to get dressed. Unknown to him, Shan was already waiting for him under the tree.
Shan was under the tree, in the shade, waiting patiently for Razel. She looked up at the sky that was starting to get cloudy. The wind was telling her that rain was on its way. She sighed since if it rained she would have to go back before seeing him. “Shan,” She heard from off in the distance. It didn’t sound like Razel but she looked over quickly. As she thought, it wasn’t Razel. It was Damian with Zetriel at his side. “Oh, Damian, what a surprise to see you here,” She smiled her friendly smile at him as he walked over to her.
“Good afternoon. I’m happy you remember me. I feel honored.” He was already right outside the tree. Looking in at her he could barley contain himself. “I never forget a person or their names so don’t worry.” She was still smiling at him. She was so trusting in him even though he was a demon. This enchanted him even more. Curious of the extent of her trust, Damian stepped forward and took Shan’s chin in his hand, holding it up so that she was looking at him. Unfazed by this, Damian proceeded to bring his face closer to hers. Shan, of innocent mind, was unknowing of his intentions. As he was coming closer to her, a flash of black feathers immediately followed but a flash of white feathers came between the two. Damian froze and moved back in shock. The feathers cleared to see that they were from wings. A man was holding a sword, pointing it at Damian. The man had gotten Shan off to the side farthest away from Damian. In his way was a woman with a white wing. The other wing was only a stub with a bit of a bone; the rest had been broken off. She was parrying his move. The two were Hogosha and Zetriel.
“How dare you draw your sword at my lord,” She yelled at Hogosha.
“I don’t care who he is! He has no right to touch my little sister,” Hogosha yelled back at her. He moved his attention over to Damian. “If you lay a hand on my sister again, I will make sure that it is the last thing you touch with that hand.”
Damian laughed at this threat. Zetriel made no kind of response or movement to this. Damian tapped her shoulder to tell her to back off. She did so immediately and swiftly put her sword away. Still amused with Hogosha’s threat, Damian walked in front of Zetriel and looked Hogosha in the face. Being substantially shorter then Hogosha, due to the fact Hogosha was very tall even for a fully grown angel; he used a lightning spell to cut Hogosha’s leg. Damian was so fast at this, not even Zetriel saw this. Zetriel’s eye went wide, Shan gasped as she started to tear, and Hogosha shrieked in pain. Agonizing in pain, on his knees, Hogosha was brought down to the point where Damian could look down on him. “This is much better. Now if you are truly going to fallow through with your threat, be my guest.”
He walked around to Shan. “Don’t worry, Shan. I can heal him. And I will. I promise,” He said as he knelt down to her. Bringing his hand to her chin, Damian was not grinning but was trying to stop Shan from crying.
“Get off her you filthy demon!” Hogosha got up as much as he could on his good leg, pushed himself to Damian, and slashed at him. The blade went through Damian as if he was only a hologram. The blade was about to go into Shan when Hogosha redirected the swing, missing Shan by not even a tenth of an inch.
Startled and still about to cry, eyes wide as they could get, the blade had hit the ground in front of Shan. Her knees were right at the closest part of the blade. “Big brother…” Escaped her lips before tears started to fall from her eyes like rain from the sky. “Shan,” Hogosha said as he pushed himself to her. “You’re alright…right?” Unsure of what the answer would be, Hogosha was breathing heavily from not only the wound of his leg but the shock of almost hitting Shan, the most important person to him.
“I-I…” She couldn’t even speak a response to him. All she could do was nod.
“That’s it,” Hogosha said softly, pulling his sword out of the ground and turning around to Zetriel and Damian. “I challenge you, Damian.” He pointed the sword at Damian.
