As far as I know, I'm 99.9 % sure that Karl is Charles. Which kind of sucks because he isn't nearly as mysterious or hot =(.
But Charles has his own appeal. He's very cute and brings up lots of unanswered questions, like why he hates Solomon so much.
I think that unanswered questions is why he was changed, so there would be something in the manga we didn't know all about.
Solomon is ...scary. Which he never really was before. He was just sort of driven. He also doesn't seem to care at all about Charles. In the anime he kind of tried to look after Karl. He even said he envyed him when he died.
I was completely mortified by the whole "Kai is my brother. Hagi is my Dog" thing. I was like "What ? Poor Hagi!"
