To create something like the above.. 1.) Begin by drawing out the lineart in Photoshop or Corel. I set my pen width to one pixel for smaller lines, and 2 pixels for bigger. It helps to draw if you have a tablet [Wacom makes great ones], but I find using a mouse works well too. 2.) Once you're completely satisfied with how your lineart looks, close Photoshop and open Adobe Illustrator. Now, open your lineart in Illustrator. 3.) From there, go up to "Object" in the top bar and select "Live Trace" as a submenu. Then, click "Tracing Options." 4.) We're looking to recreate Clamp's darkly angular linework, so don't touch anything in the menu that comes up except for the "threshold" number. With the preview box checked, raise this number as high as possible, but stop when it starts to look like tons of small lines are appearing. 5.) Now, trace your artwork with the settings you just set. Save, and you're done! In my case, I threw some screentone in back of the girl for greater contrast, but extra details are up to you. You may want to consider a final round of cleaning in Photoshop, but this isn't always necessary.
