well there are other lolita styles for you to try. there is sweet lolita, dark lolita and light lolita. the sweet lolita is lace and different colors of dress dark lolita is black dress and light lolita is white dress. to get started i just customised my dresses i already had and custonised my skirts and shirts it cost me for the material around 10 pound to make my outfits. and i mix sweet lolita and gothic lolita together so its not too much. just customise whatever clothes you have its cheap and looks exactly the same as a branded company

Hi im a goth lolita and im 13 s my perants are strict about it too and I also live in the Uk. IN camden town there is 3 lolita stores each modest and beatiful... YOu should get strted by getting one blouse one skirt and one dress then bulid from there. And acsesorze your outfits thats what I do that and get a goth lolita bible it shows you how to make your own...

Well, first of all maybe your mom doesn't want you to be a gothic lolita because she thinks you will attract pedophiles. Show her photos and articles of gothic lolita and try to make her understand that gothic lolita is not a sexual fetish or anything of that nature. On top of that, you should do your part to dress in a modest and conservative manner typical of the ideal lolita. To start off your wardrobe, I recommend purchasing homemade items from independent brands like inthestarlight.com. You can also buy cheap lolita costumes from Bodyline and Lucky Pinky. (Google them to find their homepages.) These great links will help you more than I ever could. The second is an archive of helpful pages. http://community.livejournal.com/egl/4019745.html http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=egl Good luck!
