As it says in the title of this review, Battle Royale : Volume One had a great storyline, but a very mediocre display. For instance, every other page was speaking about sex and condoms. I realize that the manga has a Mature rating, but it gets kind of ridiculous with all of the sex talk. I would have enjoyed the manga more if the people who wrote it left out most of the sex talk. I have to admit that it felt awkward to read it at times.

The character interactions between students and the government teacher was well done, I have to say. His way of disciplining the students who disobeyed his orders certainly displayed his true nature of being a pig and a monster. As for the student-to-student intereactions, it was also very well done. For instance, the manner in which the students attacked one another showed how frightened and driven to insanity these children were.

Well that's all I really have to say about Battle Royale : Volume One. As I read more volumes, I'll be sure to give more reviews. Check back for more!
