Poll: How serious are you about your art?
From writing the manga tips blog it's wonderful to see how many people share the same hobby. I'm curious to see to what extent people are willing to take this. Based on the responses I might be able to write more targeted entries in future! (Argh! I had the answers in a ranked order but they keep getting randomised...not sure if it's a bug or just the way it's supposed to be o_O?!)
I'm mildly ambitious about my art and would enter contests if the time needed fits conveniently into my schedule
I want to become a professional artist and I'm actively researching the industry and making attempts to become established
I enter manga contests to win, but if I win I'm not sure I'd genuinely pursue the opportunity to work full-time
It's purely a hobby to unwind and I don't like my work being competitively judged or compared to others
I am a mangaka (and I want my social life back XD)
I put a fair amount of effort in my work but I do slip up and occasionally leave projects unfinished

Pretty serious, i'm constantly working on my art style and experimenting with different types of media. I've also been working on my storytelling, making sure that both the image and the text work together and flow the the way I want it to. It's hard to focus on it completely sometimes, to be honest, but I'll never quit( It's kinda hard to imagine myself doing anything other than making manga).
it was hobby, now i am obsessed, but 12 years old >.
i'm doing my best to grow as an artist... it started as a hobby years ago but now it's taken over my life.
heh i draw all the time.. ^^ it`s a habbit of mine and hobby too, but it doesn`t mean that all my pics are good, most of them are really awful, but still...-> it`s my dream to be a professional artist one day. :3

i picked... "It's purely a hobby to unwind and I don't like my work being competitively judged or compared to others" but to me its more than a hobby, its letting me spill out all my feelings. kinda like a best friend, but better. =)
