I can answer that sephiroth question
Reason:Sephiroth above all wants to test clouds powers cloud always finds some way of beating him sort of speak. When sephiroth was throne into the life stream cloud was taken with him and there souls crossed now cloud has a part of Sephiroth and Sephiroth has a part of cloud in him. His ultimate goal is to push cloud to the limit whenever Sephiroth fights cloud Seth (yes i know so much about Sephiroth i know his nickname) is not even at full stranght that was proven in Advent Childrens. I FFVII Sephiroth burned clouds home town witch made cloud snap with this Sephiroth now had some he could play games with .
A the fact that cloud was in the same Soldier unit as Sephiroth
