Wheels screeching softly on the hard, black pavement, I rode on to actually reach the sight. It’s been a while since I’ve been called, and also goes the same for buying a new car. My new car, the Lamborghini is nice. Even though it does cost a whole lot of money, I was able to afford it. It’s quite the stare at car, since it is nicely shined and black to go along with that. The only things I don’t understand are why people stop me and ask me my name, and freak out because I have a sword that’s almost my height. All I say is that my name is Renji, and drive off, leaving them gapping in astonishment. The only thing I don’t like about the car is the low seats. They sink down to the floor, and the windshield is nearly flat, making it an obscure feeling for me, since I am about five foot nine. I like it being high instead of low, but what is anybody going to do about it? Great cars come with hard measures. To make up for the windshield and low seats, the Lamborghini has amazing horsepower. It’s always cool going fast instead of slow. This is the first time I’m driving long distance in my car. I barely ever drive; maybe I’m just used to walking. Then again, people stare at me when I walk. Why do I stick out so much? Whatever… I better concentrate on this driving, like just now the driver in front of my slowed down because of a truck driving ahead. Dang… I don’t have much time, how am I going to do this? Noticing that this was a drive-around road took me a little while. I grunted, and road onto the opposite direction side, and passed right be the two drivers.
This would be easy. All I have to do is fight, no big deal. But what could be so large that they had to call me there? I’m one of the strongest sword wielders, and they had never had to call anyone except for the minors before. Testing my skills against opponents is fun though. Only an hour and forty-five minutes to get to the portal and I’m still far away. I knew I should have gone earlier. Sighing with growing frustration barely helped me. Normally I’d be completely calm for this… but what was getting me so worried…? As if something would happen to stop my arrival, something that would not only stop me, but get everyone else into jeopardy. I shook off the feeling. Sensing such nonsense was stupid and revolting. What would the other captains say to me if they saw I was acting like a complete coward? Preposterous fraud… that’s what they would say. I laughed to myself. What a strange thought. I had no time to think of what happened next, just that there was no way to slow my car down for the impact.
What I found was wrong with me was that there was a car wreck. My thoughts had driven my head off of driving and onto other, more important issues. Now I find myself jammed in my new, destroyed car. My arm had a deep gash, now paining me that I realize I have it. So does my face. My eye stings from the blood getting into it. Awkward, my predictions actually occurred. That barely ever happens. I better get out of this car before it blows up or anything, I’m not much of the car expert, I wouldn’t know. My face was leaning against the steering wheels de-flatted air bag, my sword crushing my ribs. I looked around the interior of my car and found that the front windshield glass was shattered. Frowning, and flinching at the same time, I somewhat kick the steering wheel out of my way, and climb out of the hole in the front. The front of my car was jammed into the back of the other person’s car. The entire front of my car was completely destroyed, and that went the same for the back of the driver’s car. I exhaled softly, and kick my car wheel. That was really un-necessary, but hey, I’m angry. I walked over to the front of the other driver’s car to see if they were alright and I found that the driver was passed out. It didn’t seem like he had any injuries, just maybe a few scratches that the back shattered glass windshield would have caused. I tried opening his door, but off course, it was locked. I took a chance and broke the window glass with my sword hilt. It shattered but didn’t give the driver any new wounds. Unlocking the door, I unbuckled the driver and pulled him out of the car. I laid him on the ground and pulled out my cell phone. Luckily, it wasn’t damaged and it had service in this remote area. After my swift phone call with 911, I headed out on my own leaving the driver and my car behind. It was a pain to lose an approximately 380,000 dollar car. All of that money went to waste. Now I had to get to the sight in less time then I was comfortable with. I also don’t understand why the care crash went so quickly. I was expecting to be lying in that car for a long time… and for everything to maybe slow down. Instead, I bet I only lied there for a few minutes. But I don’t even remember the air bag coming out. Maybe it went by slow, but my mind speed it up and I missed some important details of everything. Like the car I actually crashed into, I never noticed it until the impact, same goes for the broken windshield, my arm, face, and the air bag. I was paying so much attention on the battle and other captains that I didn’t pay attention to the rode. How dumb of me, what was I trying to do? Now I’m never going to get anywhere. I kicked a rock ahead of me, and heard soft sirens in the distance.
Only fifteen minutes until the portal opens and I’m, still nowhere near it. My wound is slowing me down a bit now, and this hill is tiring. I also nearly stumbled over a tire from a truck. Trucks normally did leave behind ripped apart wheel parts, and I happened to nearly kill my face with one of them. Once at the top of the hill, I inhaled and leaned against my knees. I would never make it.
“This is stupid. How am I going to get anywhere with such inferior strength and no car?!” I asked myself gruffly, kicking some dirt off of the road. A car zoomed past me, and another. They must have finally cleared the wreckage. I continued walking with only ten minutes left. Why was I never gifted with a supernatural power like all of the other warriors? That’s the only reason I’m not an elite captain, because I have no power, I could only be a captain. I rolled my eyes, and tried to wipe away some of the blood still in my eye. It just leaked back down without warning. I grumbled and threw my fist into my hand. My fist suddenly disappeared.
“AH!” I exclaimed and pulled my fist away from my hand. My hand had appeared again, normal as always. I started at my hand, confused. That was strange, as if my hand disappeared. I punched my hand again and it did the same thing. Pushing my entire arm into the void, I noticed it didn’t hurt. Why hadn’t I noticed this before? I smirked and stuck my head into it too. I was known to take chances, so this was actually pretty normal. I was able to get my entire body through, and I looked around. Weightlessness, I felt nothing. Everything was hollow, as if vacuum sealed somewhere. It is completely black, but light. Un-breathable, but the best air I’ve ever breathed. It’s quite confusing, but really clear at the same time. I looked around. Nothing…. Everything was silent.
“This is unbearable!!” I yelled, but no noise came out of my mouth. But someone answered even if they didn’t speak and no one was here.
“Unbearable, eh? Were you trying to get?” It said, the sudden sound resonating in my head, making me spin around to find the owner of the voice. No one, not one person was here. This makes me feel like I should have stayed in my car. I moved forward a step and found that I wasn’t even standing on anything. A white light suddenly flashed, or was it a black light? And everything went back to normal again. I finally decided to answer when I was interrupted.
“Oh, answer that and tell me your name,” the voice spoke again without speaking. I sighed and answered wordlessly.
“I’m Renji Zangetsu. And I’m trying to get to this one portal.” It was silent for a few moments, and then there was an answer.
“I could take you there if you would like me to,” was the response. I nodded, and it or they seemed to understand. A hole began to form in the bowels of darkness and light.
“Wait! Before I go… May I ask… who are you and what is this place?” I yelled out before I was sent anywhere. The response was quick and well spoken.
“I am someone you may, and may not ever meet again, so I won’t say, and this is your mind. As quiet and confusing s it has ever been. Any intruder into your mind would forever be lost, but never be lost at all. That is how strange it is,” I sighed. That hadn’t really helped, but that didn’t really matter. As long as I was going to the portal, I was alright. I fell into the hole and found my feet hit ground. I collapsed under my sudden weight and pained body. I had never truly felt how much gravity pushes down on its victims, or how painful it was to have a single cut or scrap on your body. A sudden spark erupted a few feet in front of me. It exploded into a dark blue-purple hole and the outside sides turned orange and sparked. Green jets of electricity passed through the blue-purple are ever few seconds. I smirked, the realm really did work. Maybe that was my special power. Perfect, now I would be able to become an elite captain. I drew my sword and stepped right through the sparks, my wounds vanishing, and my clothes changing. I became stronger, since in the past it was normal. All thoughts of my Lamborghini disappeared as I thought about getting a brand new one once the work was done.
This is just a short story that I had to write for writing class. It isn't my best, and it isn't very good, but I like it.. just a little bit. XD Hope you enjoy. ^^ (The text is very big. I didn't mean to do that...)
