Location: City residential area
Part 1
The camera starts off zoomed in on a puddle on an old, stone pavement next to a brick wall. A boot hammers into the puddle and the camera pulls out to reveal Kouki and Terrance walking briskly through a maze of alleyways. After a while, Terrance's pace abruptly slows to a crawl;
TERRANCE: (Looking around, confused) Damn, I'm lost. Which way is it now?
KOUKI: You're asking me, of all people?
TERRANCE: Good point... Ah, I think we need to take a left here
The two men turn round a corner and start to pick up their pace as we see a large, dark figure rapidly approaching them from behind
KOUKI: Why don't you just call Teresa and ask her for directions?
TERRANCE: Are you kidding? I'd never hear the last of it off her
KOUKI: There’s still a lot of rivalry between you two, eh?
TERRANCE: Well, I do still have to keep up my reputation as the 'fearsome big brother'
KOUKI: (Chuckles)
TERRANCE: (Looking around) Ah, I think I know where we are now, just a right turn up there, then straight on...
As they walk on, a dustbin crashes to the floor behind them. Startled, the pair instantly spins around and pulls out their guns, aiming into the darkness.
KOUKI: (Quietly) Oh, great. I bet Lisha's sent a surprise
TERRANCE: (Quietly) you’ve really got to stop pissing her off, you know?
KOUKI: (Looking dismissively at Terrance's revolvers) you should really get newer guns
TERRANCE: I like them, they're family heirlooms (Calling out) WHO'S THERE?
Woman's voice: Now, now boys, you can put those guns away... It's your lucky day!
A trio of young women, wearing not much else apart from PVC jackets, knee high boots and lingerie, step into what there is of the light
KOUKI: (To Terrance) friends of yours?
TERRANCE: (Suspicious) never seen them before. (To the girls) Who are you, and what do you want?
Two of the girls giggle as the other steps closer and speaks;
Woman: I'm Vixen, and these are my close friends. (Advancing slowly) We were supposed to hook up with a couple of guys, but they didn't show. (Flirtatious) Now me and my friends have gotten so bored, we need a couple of young, attractive guys like yourselves to pass the time with...
KOUKI: (Barely containing laughter) Believe me, I'm not young. (Whispers to Terrance) Did she honestly think we would buy this for a second?
Vixen: We're so bored; we'd be willing to do anything to pass the time...
TERRANCE: (To himself) anything? (Whispers to Kouki) I think we should hear them out.
KOUKI: (In disbelief, whispers to Terrance) Earth to Terrance!? Think with your brain instead of your balls...
Vixen: Well? We’re waiting!
KOUKI: (Continues) ... One; your sister is waiting. Two; who do you know in this city that would offer it to a stranger without a price tag?
TERRANCE: (coming to his senses) True...
KOUKI: (Continues) Three; they’re not human
Vixen: Come on! Don’t you know it's rude to make a lady wait!?
TERRANCE: How do you figure that?
KOUKI: There's a puddle underneath her...
TERRANCE: Yes? And?
KOUKI: (looking him in the eye) Look at it. She has no reflection
Terrance's eyes dart towards the puddle underneath Vixen and spring wide open. Terrance and Kouki raise their weapons in defiance;
KOUKI: I'm sorry ladies, we’re otherwise engaged, unless you want to tell us what you really want
Vixen: (Badly acting surprised) Why, I don't know what you mean? We're just-
KOUKI: (Finishing her sentence) -Going to go home and brush up on your acting skills? Better still, you can go to Lisha and tell her to quit trying to stall me.
Vixen's eyes start to glow bright pink as her seductive smile turns to a scowl
Vixen: (Steely) Come, ladies, clearly we're wasting our time on these undeserving men.
The three women withdraw into the darkness as Terrance takes a sigh of relief
KOUKI: (Starting to walk off) Come on, you don't want to leave Teresa on her own...
At hearing this, Terrance springs to Kouki's side and quickens his pace
KOUKI: Just keep your weapons ready in case.
TERRANCE: What the hell were they? Vampires?
KOUKI: No, Succubi. Vampire’s eyes don’t glow pink.
TERRANCE: How do you know all this?
KOUKI: I may have lost my memories, but not my gut instinct, besides; I think I fought a vampire only last week.
TERRANCE: Whoa, was that Lisha's doing too?
KOUKI: I'm not sure, but I wouldn't put it past her
They turn the corner to see Teresa at the far end of the alley, glancing down at her watch. She takes her phone out and is about to dial a number on it when she sees the two men approaching;
TERESA: ABOUT DAMN TIME!? Did you get lost or something!?
KOUKI: We were otherwise detained...
TERRANCE: (worriedly to Teresa) are you okay there?
TERESA: Of course! I'm a big girl now, remember!? (Puts her phone back)
TERRANCE: (Pauses) has he showed yet?
TERESA: No, he should have shown up about five minutes ago, so should have you for that matter
TERRANCE: Well, I'm here now... (Sees Kouki leaving) You taking off?
KOUKI: (Walking away) yeah, she was stalling me for a reason. Whatever's gonna happen is gonna happen tonight…
TERRANCE: Well, good luck!
TERESA: Bye Kouki!
KOUKI: Bye...
Part 2
Turning another corner, Kouki eventually comes to the alley overlooking the cemetery across the road. As he draws nearer to the exit, a young man with short spiked blonde hair and sunglasses enters the alley, heading in the opposite direction. The man is wearing a large tattered jacket with leather patches sewn into its shoulders. He appears to be talking into a cell phone;
GRIFT: Yeah, sorry for the delay, I'm just coming up now... Yeah, I've got the merchandise... Ok, see you in a sec...
Grift puts his phone back into one of his many pockets and quickens his pace. As Kouki tries to walk past, Grift violently bumps into his shoulder and continues on. Kouki abruptly stops and turns towards him
KOUKI: (loud and assertive) give it back...
Grift stops in mid-stride and turns to face Kouki
GRIFT: Why... I don't know what you're talkin about!?
KOUKI: You're good, Grift, but you're not that good. (Holds his hand out) give me my phone back...
Grift sheepishly pulls Kouki's phone out from his sleeve and hands it back to him.
GRIFT: (Muttering to himself) First one that's noticed all day...
With his hands in his pockets, Grift grumpily walks away while Kouki replaces his phone into his coat heads off towards the end of the alley...
Part 3
The shot changes to a small, cramped graveyard overlooking a small gothic cathedral, which is surrounded by tall buildings.
There, slowly walking amongst the masses of packed-in tombstones is a very pale-skinned girl, about 18 years old, wearing a long, ragged black dress. Her long, jet black pigtails are tied to both ends of her large semi-circular headdress; which has several different religious icons mounted over its circumference. Dangling from her waistband from several small chains are several pouches and strange wooden, straw and fabric dolls, while mounted over her back is what appears to be a miniaturised crossbow, with a winch attached to the back of its handle. Clasped in the girl's right hand is a large bunch of white lilies. As she walks among the graves, she bends down to a tombstone and rests a lily down in front of it. She does not stop at this grave for long though; she gets back up and repeats the process until she has placed a lily on over a dozen graves. After placing the last flower down, the girl takes a small dagger from her waistband and holding with both hands, points it towards her heart. She closes her eyes and with great force lunges the dagger towards her heart. For a second or two she pauses, waiting to feel a reaction before opening her eyes; only to see that the dagger is held an inch away from her chest. Now with her eyes open, she once again attempts to thrust the dagger into her heart, but it again stops an inch away from her flesh. The girl struggles with the blade, trying with all her strength to push it further towards herself but to no avail; it is though an invisible barrier is pushing the blade back away from her.
Voice: Don’t despair, Elizah
Startled, Elizah quickly turns towards the direction of the voice to see a large cloaked and hooded figure, standing far in the distance beyond the edge of the graveyard.
ELIZAH: (Steely) who’s there?
Voice: Someone who holds the answers that you seek. Soon, Elizah, you will be free...
The cloaked figure turns as if sensing someone approaching and quickly fades away into the darkness. As the figure disappears from view, we see Kouki enter the graveyard from the opposite direction, approaching Elizah from behind
ELIZAH: (To herself) ... Hmm... A lively night tonight... I sense it in the air
KOUKI: (Eavesdropping) yeah, tell me about it...
ELIZAH: (To herself) an aura... Pure white light...
Elizah turns round again, but this time she does not appear surprised. She sees Kouki, sitting atop an unusually large tombstone, lighting up a cigarette.
ELIZAH: You do realise that you are desecrating a grave by sitting there, don't you?
KOUKI: (Smiling) not this one. This one is my future resting place. An old enemy was kind enough to reserve me a place; even kind enough to carve this lovely headstone with her own hands.
ELIZAH: You seem awfully at ease for someone with a death sentence…
KOUKI: (Chuckles) True, I suppose I just take it all in my stride. You seem awfully at ease in the presence of a stranger though?
ELIZAH: I sense things, see things very few can see... You mean me no harm, but something about your aura seems... Odd.
KOUKI: Yeah, I've been getting that a lot lately. Apparently, I have no name and no soul, well; that's what I've heard today.
ELIZAH: That's not what I see. You do have a name, it's in my head right now...
KOUKI: (Curious) you couldn't tell me what it is, could you?
ELIZAH: I'm sorry, no. Something about it is missing; it's as if it is somehow incomplete...
KOUKI: (Puzzled) Hmm... I'm sure I'll piece it all together
ELIZAH: I sense danger in the sky; a tiny shining aura nears a giant black abyss. Does this have any meaning to you?
KOUKI: Err... Yes, I think so... I'm waiting for an important call.
ELIZAH: (Looking to her side as if talking to someone) Hmm...(Looking back at Kouki) You are prepared for a battle?
KOUKI: If need be...
Elizah holds out her dagger and approaches Kouki
ELIZAH: Hold out your hand, I have a gift for you.
Kouki gently raises his hand towards Elizah, his palm outstretched. Elizah takes his hand in hers and uses her dagger to carefully cut along the surface of Kouki's palm, to which he shows no reaction other than looking slightly puzzled.
Putting her dagger away, she removes a wooden doll from one of her chains, puts it into Kouki's hand and turns it around, bathing the doll in his blood before taking it back out of his palm and wrapping it up into a small, white, silk scarf.
ELIZAH: Use caution, two will die tonight; one, with a pure heart... (Looking up at the sky) I can see stealth and victory walking hand in hand... This curse will help hide you from your enemies. (Looks down at the doll) I will keep this charm safe for you
KOUKI: Err, thanks, but why would you help me so much?
ELIZAH: Something other than your aura is odd. Already, I feel compelled to aid you...
KOUKI: (Smiles kindly)
ELIZAH: ...And I haven't felt anything in a while
KOUKI: Well, I won't forget your kindness, that's a promise...
As Elizah carefully tucks the wrapped-up doll into her waistband, Kouki's phone shouts to life from within his coat. Taking in a deep breath, Kouki takes the phone out of the coat and puts it to his ear...
KOUKI: (To himself) here we go... (To the phone) Hello?
James: It's James; her limousine's just pulled up.
Still holding the phone to his ear, Kouki slides off his headstone and starts to walk away
KOUKI: So, what's the situation?
James: Her cronies are taking several people out of the limo towards the old house.
KOUKI: Is she there?
James: Hold on... Yep, I've got one positive I.D.
KOUKI: Right, I'm not far away. I'll need you to watch my back when I get there. I'll put my phone on discreet; just give me a call when you see me.
James: Sure thing; old 'eagle eye's got your back. See you soon
KOUKI: Thanks, bye.
Taking the phone from his ear, Kouki turns towards Elizah
KOUKI: (Smiling) well, until next time, stranger
ELIZAH: Indeed, stranger, oh and good luck
KOUKI: Thanks. (To himself) I think I'll need it...
As Kouki and Elizah walk off in opposite directions, the hooded figure watches from afar.
Voice: (To itself) Yes, Elizah; until next time...
