Let me count the ways:
I love that you are "family-friendly," but still throw in all sorts of things that would be totally uncool for most "family" shows in the US, including vampires, violence, death, demons, (Daleks), smart and dark and complicated storytelling, some truly frightening scarecrows, and homosexuals (fine, "omnisexuals").
Edit: I love how in the UK, a family-friendly show like this is *massively popular.* Okay, it's been around for a billion years and all, but still. Its weekly ratings in Britain are ridiculously high, and the influence of the show on popular culture is far-reaching and very ingrained. Even Sesame Street never caught both kids *and* adults the way Doctor Who does.
I love the cast in general, really. The Doctor's loss and loneliness is painful to watch, and Martha's earnest, almost-desperate pursuit is also occasionally hard on the viewer (and I still miss Rose...). The characters have families. They have histories. These things matter, in ways far beyond just mere plot points, or something that comes up in the occasional episode to add a little bit of angst.
Speaking of the cast, I love the fact that John Barrowman has an *enormous* mouth. (And he's scary as a blond Nazi. See?

I love that you always surprise me. Having the Who-verse version of Firefly's Reavers (who scare the daylights out of me), but then just kind of having them in the background as part of the local color? Awesome. The season-long foreshadowing? Awesome!!
I love British actors. My god, even the school kids in the two-parter were fantastic. I just want to eat David Tennant right up. And having Derek Jacobi in a cameo? LOVE.
I love that the only person nuttier and more hyper than the 10th Doctor is his new enemy (who is also the star of another BBC show that I'm currently loving).
I love how you totally feed my love of unrequited/thwarted love. *sniff*
I love your sense of humor.("You grew another hand..." "Hello!" *finger wiggle*) The pure *fun* that the series has with time-travel and saving the world is infectious and totally compensates for the occasional cheesy special-effect, or the occasional off-episode.
That's basically it. Smart and funny. Love it.
Man... "Utopia" was just incredible. (Capt. Jaaaack!!!)
