Her skin reflected the moonlight as she lay sleeping in a meadow. Her features almost seemed angelic in the silver light of the moon. She wore a deep violet gown, that when her icy blue eyes were opened, made visible from a mile away. Her gown was simple, it was a 'v' neck that had both shoulders and hung low on her back. It wasn't ruffled it was sort of creased, the dress kind of wrapped aroundher below her bustline and hung elegantly to her knees. Her blonde hair flopped everywhere, cut a little onto the shoulder she had slanted bangs on the left side that layed on her forehead.
While she dreamt she didn't know she had a protector in the dark. She had only met him once and she was a child then. He was not too much older than her at the time but he didn't think she remembered him. He was hired by her father when he came of age, just to watch her, to make sure she didn't get into trouble she couldn't handle. Though peacefull in her slumber she could be quite rambunctous and raucous when awake. She had the tendency to disappear from her father's sight at times, just to wander around the market, because it was forbidden. Anything to be rebellious.
Though he didn't know, her sweet dreams were all of him. She didn't know who he was but he visited her almost every night, singing sweetly and telling her about the other worldly lands she only dreamt of seeing. Sadly, everytime she asked his name she would awaken and he would once again become nothing but a distant memory, to be brought back to like only that night while she slept. He kept her in line, thoughts about what he would advise her to do or not to do during her day.
Only at nights would he dare let himself be known to her father, checking back with him every hour, only at times when he knew that he could. The old man had promised him that one day he would introduce him to her and explain to her the risk her took every night watching her. Though most of the nights were peaceful, there were somenights when demons would catch her scent and he would have to battle them off in silence. Mostly the lesser demons (known to be foolish) went after her but lately there hadn't been any disturbances. This bothered him, usually something had come after her by this time, he feared that some where in dark shadows someone or something was plotting to hurt her.
For you see, she was no average human, she was of guardian angel blood. The purest blood known, it could heal any wound, and be used as a source of demon power. Though she was a halfling as the Arch's referred to her, she was the last of her kind, her mother had been a guardian, she'd fell in love with her father, thought it was forbidden, halflings were considered a disgrace because their potential didn't show until later in life, full blooded guardians showed their power at birth. After bearin a halfling child her mother was executed, but not before living in agony as her child grew with out her, she was executed the day her daughter turned five. The years before were spent locked away in a prison.
Afterwards a war ensued and all of the guardians were slaughtered, except her, because the darkness didn;t know about her, because she was a halfling.
Chap 2 (not complete)
(Her point of view)
I awoke with a terrible headache, like someone made a hurricane run throw and over my head, ow! I slipped out of the clearing and back into my house, and my room. It was decorated in greens and blues, all soft pastel like colors. I slipped in my bed, which was a mint green colour, and pretended to be asleep. I ruffled my hair and rubbed my eyes, making it look like I had been asleep here the whole time, not outside. I closed my eyes and breathed deeply relaxing, thankfully my room smelled like lavender, which was quite relaxing. Soon I was in a light sleep, not even dreaming, just like closing my eyes and drifting in my subconscious. "Lillith, it’s a beautiful morning, you won’t be able to enjoy it if you sleep all morning," father stepped in, pulling back the curtain on my canopy, he was quite cheerful though it was so early, he smiled which was like the sun in my darkened room.
"I’m awake" I muttered futilely, he chuckled and left the room, ugh time to wake up. I willed my body out of bed and over to the bureau. I opened the first drawer, there were a pair of red clothe fighting pants, today’s bottoms, the next drawer held a black top (think Yoko Kurama from YYH). I pulled my hair into a bun and held it up with two chopsticks. When I looked in the mirror I saw an average face, but if I went outside, I got loads of compliments, "oh how beautiful" "how gorgeous!" I am soooo tired of it. I closed my eyes, and thought, I felt a humming like I was glowing a buzz like a bee, except it wasn’t annoying, it was harmonious. I could faintly hear a song, something small, like someone dearly had sung it to me before. Then, as quickly as it had come, it was gone, and I was left all by myself, in my boring old room. Then the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. My hand started glowing green and some unseen force made my body turn towards the darkened closet a beam of brilliant light shot out. It connected, but it didn’t destroy anything, a tone rung out, like a musical note, and then a person exited my closet, someone I only knew in dreams.
As the light faded so did my strength, draining me completely. ‘What in the inter world?’ I thought before my consciousness fleeted away from me. When I awoke, Father was taking a wet cloth across my forehead. The light from the outside seemed blinding, even if I knew that there were only a few rays penetrated the fortitude of my curtains. I clenched my jaw in pain as my eyes seared and watered, I still felt extremely weak, compared to my normal boundless energy. Once my eyes were adjusted to the lighting, as dim as it may be, I opened them completely. Them guy was standing at the other side of the bed, concern was coloured in his eyes. His lips were pressed into a tight line, I didn’t know him, but he apparently knew me. Father brought me food, to strengthen me from my loss of energy, it helped a bit. For the next hour or so , everything odd about me that Father thought I didn’t notice, was explained, from not being able to mingle with the ‘commoners’ (as he called them), to the young man I now call, Sephron. "Tomorrow, you will learn how summon your wings" Father announced, a proclamation, that shocked me to no end.
still not finished.
