I do my very best

to get her attention

I try to get A's on my test

for her consideration.

My only quest

is to recieve her attention.

But she wants to be my guest

to see my walk in concentration,

because she knows I am the best

at my formal graduation,

I am her tweet in the nest,

and she my key to non-starvation.

I try to be a pest,

but her only consideration,

is to be my special guest

and watch me walk at my graduation.


I wrote this poem many years ago My original was called "My Graduation". I just recently cleaned it up a bit and sent it in to a poem contest and got a "Editor's Choice Award" for original perspective and unique creativity. What do you all think? I thought it was very nice and original. The rhythm/rhyming pattern was done well and I like the light sense of humor. *pop*
