Lost in the Crowd - 05/02/08
Sloooooow week. Nothing on the usual news sites really caught my attention but there are a few things worth mentioning..
First up, this week at Manga Recon I take a look at Rurouni Kenshin: Viz Big Edition vol. 1! It's the first three volumes of the standard Rurouni Kenshin volumes smooshed into one lovely package! Also at Manga Recon, I contribute two reviews to the Manga Mini's for April. I take a gander at Tokyopop's eV vol. 1 and the second half of Udon's Sakura Ganbaru! manga. Katherine, Isaac and Chloe also have reviews in there for Dragon Sister! vol. 1, the Naruto Fan Book, and Love Master A.
This Saturday is the annual Free Comic Book Day and stores around the country will be taking part with various promotions, freebies, signings, sales and more. While they are mainly comic shops, a well stocked one will have quite a bit of manga, and there are a few manga give aways being sent out as well (like a promotional Shonen Jump sampler for one). It might be worth it to swing by to your local comic shop and see what's up, I know mine is having a sale including 20% off all manga, TPB's and GN's. Sooo.. check out the site, find out of there's a shop near you involved and see what you can snag.
Sadly I think that's about it. Like I said, slow week.
