Late, late, late, I am so late. Technical difficulties here and intermittently playing with Maya got me done late.  I do have to play with my dog, you know! Plus she is in training! We are taking Beginners class. So, I also do some training during the times I am home at night.

BEST/WORST READING/VIEWING

 

In this segment of What’s the Scoop ?, I am going to give you the best and worst anime or manga that I have viewed or seen. I hope you like this new segment.

 

1^st place Calamari has flare and warmth in her epics. But in a one shot story, she takes a twisted look at an Otaku in Love. This one had me smiling at what can change an Otaku’s mind. And the angst in which he make the decision ends in sweet happiness. Or will there be a sequel?

 

1^st place Shy0ne1 posts a very cute poem. Talk of the wind is a cute and whimsical poem about the different types of wind. I have to say it is well done.

 

My manga reading!

 

Case Closed Vol. 23, this volume has 2 ¼ stories. The two full stories are very well written and drawn. In the second story Harley shows up again to assist Conan. The  ¼ story is the beginning of an “I am not the killer” crime. It has a very strange beginning that make you wonder.

 

Trinity Blood Vol. 5, it is time to return the envoy back to the Empire. Unlike the anime, we get to see a different type of transportation for returning Ion. This is yet another beautiful manga of our lazy Father Abel. Chiding from Esther brings some very funny scenes.

 

Kindaichi Case Files: The Undying Butterflies Vol.17, what does beautiful butterflies have to do with a murder mystery. At first it just seem confusing until you see the butterfly in question. It is black and has white on its wings. The white marking looks like ….. What, you want me to give it away. Read the manga! It is a great who done it.

 

Black Cat Vol. 14, it is time to set up the Sweeper Alliance which is being formed to capture Creed. But in order to get the location of the meeting place you have to beat a game. With Sven away training, it is up to Eve and Train to best the game. Can they beat the game without Sven? Will they beat it in time to meet the deadline that was set by Glin?

 

Monochorome Factor Vol. 2, breaks out the hard fighting. Not only do Akria and Shirogane  have to stop the Shin from invading the earth, now they are looking for a serial killer. This is where Akria learns that fighting is not the same as combat. What is Shirogane hiding from Akria? And worse, how can ordinary people see Shin?

 

The Knockout Makers Vol. 2, has Toshihiro being mistaken for a girl by a girl that see herself as a bear. Nobou tells the story how he became a good hair stylist. Ryouhei meets a young lady that is part of a wedding that has an unfortunate sunbathing incident. There are two more stories after these three. My favorite is the first one. You may like one of the others.

Tsubasa Reservoir Chonicle Vol. 17, has everyone desperately trying to save a very injured member of the team. (Thought I was going to give it away, did you). It will take Monoko to convince them to contact Yoku. What is the price going to be to save someones life? Who will have to give something up? How will this character feel about being saved?

 

Anime I have viewed. Yes, this week I have actually watched some anime. NO! Not the ones that need the region free DVD player.

 

Black Blood Brothers Vol. 3, the final chapters are revealed. Again a bit confusing, but the action makes up for the confusion. I would suggest watching this anime.

 

xxxHoLic Vol. 2, continuing with the story of young Watanuki. Who and what this young man meets during this volume. I do get confused when we are shown scenes from one story line that use a character of a different story lines. I know what I would expect but it just doesn’t flow like the manga.

Do you remember a blog I had stating that I was taking over a tournament?? Well, it has come to an end. Finally! The winner of the Tournament of the Gods is Otaku42. The MLC Gods of Fiction need to meet and greet the new God of Fiction. Plus tell the new god what type of fiction they are the god of.  Next week I will have a link for you all to go to and see the fiction Otaku42 creates. Maybe we can ….nah, that would be too corny.

 

Next week I am going to try my hardest to post this before the weekend. We are going to Pittsburgh. If I am at my one aunt’s house, I get no signal for my Verizon card. And my cell phone won’t work there either. And someone has a Verizon phone and you can’t hear them now from my aunt’s house.
