As Ray walked down the sidewalk towards his house he was glittering with anger. His mind kept wandering towards that picture of his brother underneath Syn who was practically naked! He tried to focus, but he couldn't. He wondered what his brother was doing with Syn right now alone in their house. Alone. His strides quickened and lengthened.
Inside Syn had fallen asleep once again and he couldn't blame her. Yes he desired her, thought Cray, and yes he was way attracted to her. He heard the door slam shut and knew it was his brother wasn't in the best of moods. He started down the stairs. When Ray saw Cray coming down the stairs with a huge grin on his face, his body tensed with anger and he couldn't suppress his anger any longer from his brother. Cray stopped in his tracks sensing his brother’s anger and he turned towards him.
"What the hell is your problem?" Cray asked him coming fully down the stairs. "Nothing!" Said Ray.
Usually he would tell his brother everything, but now he felt he couldn't trust his brother, his twin brother.
"Well fine! Whatever, I don't care. Syn's asleep upstairs, she's being doing that on and off all day. Chipper up your mood or you'll worry her. She doesn't need to have any stress while she's getting better." Cray grabbed his overcoat and his backpack.
"Oh and whatever the hell's got your mood in the dumps, get over it." Cray shut the door quietly, but with just as much menace as slamming the door would've
portrayed. Ray knew his brother was right, but he still couldn't shake his anger. He took off his overcoat and set it on the table. He went into the kitchen and got a soda to drain away the foul taste in his mouth. He looked up the stairs wondering if Syn was still asleep. Probably not. He put down the soda and started up the stairs. Syn knew right away when Cray was out of the house. She hated being cooped up. She got out of bed still dressed in Cray or Rays large
T-shirt and boxers that were way too big. She had decided after the 4th hour of being stuck in the house, that she would leave when Cray's shift was over and Ray was getting here. She knew she had only a few minutes to get out of the house before Ray arrived. She ran to the door and pushed right at the same time someone was pulling. She fell, surprised by the velocity of her strength and fell right into Ray!
"Ow." She said rubbing her head. Her head spun from exertion. "Hey what are you doing out of bed?" Ray blushed wildly, fully supporting her up with his own body while she craddled her head in her hands.
"I was just going to go home and get some things and then come right back." She said, god her head was killing her.
"Yeah when pigs fly! You were going to go home and work or something stupid like that." Ray said quietly. He picked her up so that her legs were over his arms and her head cradled against his shoulder.
"Wha-what are you doing?" She was blushing she could feel the heat rush to her head, which made her feel her heartbeat in her head as if it was a hammer pounding in a nail.
"I'm carrying you back to bed because I'm afraid you'll fall and break your neck
before you even get there." Ray could sense her pain and see it in her eyes even though she would never admit to being in pain.
"I'm fine! I've been able to walk since I was one. I think I can make it to the bed." She said this with her teeth clenched.
"No you wouldn't. On a good day you’re clumsy as hell and now you’re sick so you’re an accident waiting to happen." He looked down at her, into her beautifully special eyes of silver and blue so alike yet so different from one another. They were full of fire, but underneath he saw the pain. He saw her give up. He heard her sigh of defeat and the tension leave her body.
"Fine." She leaned her head onto his shoulder. He walked over to the bed. She was expecting him to put her down, but when he didn't she asked, "Aren't you going to put me down?"
"No I'm very tired and I'm afraid if I go to sleep in my room you'll just sneak out. So I'm going to sit in this bed while I hold you and you sleep." He climbed on, still holding on to her. He shifted around until he was resting against the head
board of the bed. He slid her down so she was sitting between his lap and her back was leaning against his front. She felt his warmth his even breathing and
his heartbeat. Even some things that made her heart leap to her throat. "Um, Ray?" God, was that her voice, it sounded so hoarse.
"Yes?" He moved and she felt all his muscles move.
"I-I can't go to sleep like this." She whispered.
"Yes you can just close your eyes and breathe." He did it as he said it.
"Why can't you be like Cray? He played Tic Tac Toe with me." She felt Ray's body tense. It was involuntary that his body tensed when she said Cray's name. His blood was on fire. She sighed and did as he said. Soon her breathing started to slow and he knew she was almost asleep.
"Hey Ray, why do you want to be friends with me? I mean all the other girls in the school would be thrilled to be your friend or more, but I just make you guys miserable." He hadn't been expecting that question and he knew she was half asleep and half aware of what she was actually saying.
"Syn you are the one I want. For me and I don't like to share or I didn't until you came along." He whispered this into her ear, she shivered. He chuckled when he
felt her.
"My brother may have saw you first, but I'm the one who's going to have you first." He said with tons of determination and confidence in himself it sounded like an everyday statement. She was drifting she could feel it. She didn't hear what he said last, but she felt as if she should've listened, as if it was very important to her, but she couldn't stay awake any longer. He felt when she fell fully into sleep. He thought about what he admitted aloud and realized it
was the truth. He would probably lose his best friend in the world because of her. His twin brother who also was in love with this rare girl.
