Sakura laid there in bed. Awake. She couldn’t get herself to go to sleep.

Why?

Because she was confused. She was confused about, none other then Sasuke Uchiha.

It’s been almost a year now since Sasuke came back to Konoha. Everyone accepted him back. Still, many were afraid of him; afraid that he might turn on them again. But Sasuke’s attitude remained as cold and as calm as ever. If possible, maybe even colder than before he left for Orochimaru. Sasuke was put on probation for about 2 months when he came back, and then he made his way to ANBU in the next month at the age of 16.  No one had expected for Sasuke to even make it to Jounin in his situation but he was too strong and skilled for them to put him down. His fan girls are now even more persistent than ever, now that he has a full grown man’s body.

But it didn’t bother Sakura that the fan girls were all over Sasuke. No, it did not bother her one bit. Sakura had outgrown her crush on Sasuke a long time ago. But she never stopped caring for him. What bothered Sakura was that Sasuke’s attitude towards her never changed. Not even after her confession to him about 4 years ago. He still kind of ignored her like he always did. Well, it didn’t help that fact that Sakura ignored Sasuke too. She ignored him because she was afraid to get hurt if she talked to him. Her heart could only take so much of this aching and breaking.

Sakura turned to her side in bed, a tear visible rolling down from her eyes. She only ignored him because that’s what she thought he wanted. It hurt not knowing how he felt towards her. It hurt being pushed away all these years. And now She is the one pushing Him away.

Sasuke woke up early to do some training before meeting up with Naruto and everyone else. Of course, the only one not coming is a certain pink haired girl, who has suddenly gotten inhuman strength and a body that’s attracted her own fan-boys. She didn’t even talk to him that much anymore. She didn’t hang to him anymore. She didn’t seem to even care about him anymore.

This troubled Sasuke. It troubled the Uchiha very much.

Yes, ‘The Great Uchiha’ was troubled that a girl who he spent most of his time pushing away, was ignoring him.

“Why am I thinking about her?” Sasuke didn’t understand why he even cared about this right now.

He looked up at the sky and closed his eyes. As soon as he did, he pictured her green emerald eyes. He shook his head and tried to concentrate on his training.

But he couldn’t. “ I’m being stupid, I want to get stronger so I have to concentrate.”

He really tried and tried to push his thoughts of her away. But he couldn’t.

“HEEEY TEME!” Sasuke rolled his eyes. That was none other than the loud mouth Naruto. Naruto was tall and strong now. He and Sasuke were exactly the same height now. His blonde hair now a bit darker than when he was younger. Naruto walked towards Sasuke with an arm around a blushing Hinata. Hinata’s silky hair had grown longer now and almost reached her waist. Her eyes were big and grey but shy. She was a bit shorter than Naruto but was still a good height. She had an innocent beauty. She stopped stuttering about 2 years ago but was still timid and shy,

“Dobe, do you really need to yell? I’m right here.” Sasuke turned to Hinata and said, “Hello Hinata.”

Hinata nodded her head as a response and clung to Naruto.

Naruto ignored Sasuke’s comment and started rambling on and on, “We are going to meet Neji, Tenten, Ino and Shikamaru at the festival in a little bit Teme, so lighten up a bit. Sakura-chan said she couldn’t come again, but guess what? I asked her so many times she just couldn’t say no! Haha, She looked annoyed but oh well, at least I got her to come. She doesn’t seem to have fun anymore, I bet its because of Ol’ Granny Tsunade working her so hard in the hospital and as her apprentice……………..” While Naruto rambled on Sasuke stiffened.

“Sakura?” Sasuke pushed the thought away and started walking away towards town.
