HOODWINKED! Action, humor and romance collide in this rollicking tale of olde England. With KING RICHARD THE LIONHEART off to the Crusades his jealous brother PRINCE JOHN covets the crown. No man can stop him, but two women can! In this 21st century take on a thousand year old legend we learn at last that the true hero of Sherwood Forest is...MAID MARION! The loyal people of England are beaten and taxed to the brink of starvation. It seems no one will stand against John when suddenly resistance begins. In the forest of Sherwood a convoy of knights guard a fortune extorted from the countryside. They come upon a poacher, a fierce fighter who will some day be known as LITTLE JOHN. All seems lost for the outnumbered Little John, till a mysterious archer comes to the rescue. The archer, hidden beneath the hood, is secretly a member of the Royal Court and the finest archer in all of England, beautiful young Marion. Marion has been personally trained for battle by QUEEN ELEANOR OF AQUITAINE, the mother of Richard & John anda true warrior queen who fought alongside the knights of the First Crusade. Marion & Little John defeat the knights in battle, reclaim the treasure, and force the beaten soldiers to march back unarmed and empty-handed. Afraid of the consequences if Prince John learns how easily they were beaten by the pair of unlikely heroes, the knights invent a story about ROBIN HOOD & his huge band of Merry Men. The furious Prince falls for the story, and orders the nonexistent outlaw be found and put to death! As word spreads the story acquires a life of its own, and the mythical bandit inspires resistance to John. The fun and adventure really heat up with the arrival of a poor and roguish night, a ne'er do well who lost everything when he literally missed the boat for the Third Crusade. Seeking to take fill his belly, his purse and his bed, he poses as the legendary hero. It all goes wrong when he seduces a tavern owner's daughter and tries to slip out the window leaving the girl and an unpaid bar bill behind. A bar room brawl brings the law and the knight faces a date with the gallows. Unwilling to let the stranger die for crimes he did not commit Marion and her trusted friend Little John grudgingly ride to the cad’s rescue. Against his better judgment, now wanted with no place to go, in the hope of somehow making a quick shilling and hooking up with Maid Marion, he reluctantly accepts the mantle of Robin Hood.
