I like how everyone's saying they'd go to Japan, but you'd all be treated as freaks, anyway. What makes you think xenophobia wore off? Some Japanese aren't xenophobic, but the majority are.
Me? I'd side with the US. Because we actually have an army. Japan has a self defense unit or whatever. *snicker*
