Elves Aren’t Bad! Are they?

“Eh. So this is my new schedule.” I complain.

You see I just moved to this new city because my dad thought we needed a new ‘change’ so we moved. Ya’know what else sucks, it’s my very first day of high school. Ever! Well at least I can meet new people. Eh. What the hell, it’s not gonna matter either way, IT SUCKS! Well, I’m here.

‘Let’s see. My locker number is 1324. Now where in this monstrous school is that?’ I ask myself. ‘Wait where ARE the lockers!? Man this day is gonna suck!’

I look around the school to find out where the principle’s office is. I was supposed to meet him in his office so he could show me around the school.

‘Well it would help if I could FIND it.’ I tell myself angrily.

I stop for a second so I can estimate where the office is and then...WHAM! Someone runs into me. Books fly everywhere. *Note NOT my fault!*

‘Mr. Principle! It’s not my fault I swear!’ I can picture my conversation now. ‘Then this weirdo that ran into me can get punished for making the hallway a mess.’

“Oh! I’m so sorry!” the boy that ran into me exclaims. ”Oh! I haven’t seen you around here before! Are you a new student here?”

“Umm yeah kinda.” I calmly say waiting to see if he’ll calm down more so he can show me where the principle’s is. “My family and I just got fully moved into our new house. We opened and unpacked the last box yesterday.” I smile sweetly.

“Well since you are new here, Welcome to Mayumi High School ! Oh! Sorry! I’m Roy ! And you cutie? What’s your name?”

I start blushing. ‘Oh My Gosh! Did a complete stranger just say I’m…CUTE!?’ I try to stay calm. “Ya’know if you’re trying to hit on me, my daddy owns a gun…and so do I!” I smile brightly. I guess I’m trying to freak him out just because I can, and it’s true. He looks so flustered. “Oh and by the way, my name is Ryuu! Nice to meet you!” I add sweetly.

He helps me up. I look around still lost. “Oh! Miss Ryuu do you need help finding something?” Roy asks.

“Ummm…yeah. I don’t know where the principal’s office is and I was supposed to meet him there but…I’m kinda lost. Oh and you can just call me Ryuu.” I tell him.

“Ok Ryuu!” he exclaims and grabs my hand. “This way!” He starts running down the hallway.

“Whaa?! Wait! No! Stop!” oops! I guess I’m too late!

I guess I’m gonna get dragged to where the principal’s office is…only the thing is we have to go around a turn. “Ya’know we don’t have to run!” He ignores me (*how typical for a boy*). After we go in a very complicated pattern of zigzags and twists and turns, Roy stops. I don’t.

CRASH!!!!!!! Again, Roy and I collide but when I run into him, he doesn’t fall down like I did, he catches me. “Are you ok Ryuu?” Roy asks. “Sorry I didn’t mean to abruptly stop like that I just kinda forgot where the principal’s office was. It’s my first year here.”

I start to blush. “It’s ok! And I’m fine! Don’t worry about me!” I smiled. “Well, I should go. Thank you for all your help! Bye~Bye!” I wink spin around open the door then gently close it. I walk up to a secretary and ask her “Ummm excuse me but do you know where the principal is? I was supposed to meet him here, so he can give me a tour of the school.”

She replies in an unusually perky voice, (*for a secretary*) “Yeah sweetie! He’s in there!”

“Thank you so much!” I give a small bow and a big smile to show my appreciation.

I walk towards the door the woman had pointed to. I knock on the door. “It’s open, come in.” was my reply. I slowly open the door and walk in.

“Hello! My name is…”

“Ai Ryuu Caori…I met you parents and they told me all about you. I’m sorry I can’t give you the tour myself.”

“Wait. What do you mean? I…then who is giving me the tour?” I question.

“Oh! I see I must have forgotten to tell you that My son will be giving you the tour not I. Well meet my son Al Roy Keone. But just call him Roy.” The principal told me.

“Miss Ai! It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Roy said.

I stare at him for a few seconds. This is the Roy that showed me where this place was. I acted like we had never met because I didn’t want the principal to find out what happened this morning. “Hello Roy-san!” I say in a kinda excited way.

“Well Miss Ai. If you’re going to get a tour of this place, we had better get started. There are so many things I want to show you. Good bye father.” He takes my hand and leads me outside if the principle’s office. “Ryuu! Why didn’t you tell me that I was going to give you a tour of this place?”

“Well I didn’t know, weren’t you listening to your father! THE PRINCIPAL!”

“No I wasn’t I kinda zoned out! Sorry!” Roy replies.

“It’s ok. Man it’s cold in this school. Ok! Let get started!” I smile and look around. Could we start with my locker? My books are getting a bit heavy.”

“Yeah, sure! What’s your locker number? I’ll help you find it.”

“Lets see. It’s 1324. Now in the first place where are the lockers? And can we please walk this time? I hate running.”

“Ok…I guess just because you’re cute.” He winks. “Give me your hand.”

“One more question for now. Why? Why do you want to hold my hand? People might get the wrong idea about us.”

“Just give me your hand Ryuu.” I shyly give him my hand. “Thank you, now come this way.”

We start walking down the hall up the stairs and to my locker. “S-s-so where are the lockers in this school? I haven’t seen any yet, Roy… Roy ? Hello?”

“Shhhhhhhh! I need silence…the lockers are in a different building. If we run now then we can beat the rush to them.” Roy tells me.

‘Oh no! What am I gonna do? What if my chopsticks fall out of my hair?! EH! This is bad very bad! But if we don’t hurry we’ll never beat the rush AND my chopsticks are even MORE likely to fall out of my hair!’ I think.

“OK! Let’s run there!”  I smile and start to pull him towards where he pointed.

“But wait...I thought you didn’t want to run.”

“Well, I’ve changed my mind. This way I can put my coat and my books in my locker.”

“But you haven’t gotten any books yet. What books did you bring? I mean it’s your first day here what could you possibly bring today?” Roy questions.

“I like to draw so I brought my sketch book. The people in it are all people from animes and mangas. There is sometimes where I draw my characters based on real people though…not like you’d care anyway.”

“NO! I love watching anime and manga characters being drawn! It’s so cool! Oh. Right. Sorry. We had better stay on task. Your face is turning red. What’s the matter?

“Ha-ha! You’re funny! Ha-ha!” I start laughing at him.

“What’s so funny?” Roy asks very confused.

“Your reaction…” I change the subject, “So let’s go!”

Roy nods. “Let’s go!”

We start to run down the hallway. We see the door but before that, there is a “Caution Wet Floor” sign, and it was still very wet. Thus, I fall flat on my face, causing the very thing I did not want to happen, to happen. My chopsticks fall out of my hair. My hands quickly shoot up to my ears.

“Ryuu! I’m sorry! Are you ok? What’s wrong? Your ok, aren’t you?” Roy questions.

I nod. I can’t let him see! Oh! What should I do?! If he sees, he’ll totally freak! Nya! This day is turning out to be really bad and it’s only just morning.

“Did you hit your head or something? Here let me see.” He reaches for my hand and tries to move it.

On accident I scream “NO!” I get a bit emotional some times that’s when I blurt stuff out that I don’t want to say. “Leave me alone! I’m fine! I just don’t want you to see!” Oh, Damn! That’s just what I didn’t wanna say!

“What don’t you want me to see?” he asks, as I knew he would. I move my hands from my ears. He looks at me not believing what he sees. “Y-y-you have elf ears!”
