What should I mark as adult content?

This question is hard to answer and there’s certainly a bit of grey area that makes it hard to tell what should and shouldn’t be marked. Here’s a bit of a guide for different content to give you a good idea, also when it comes down to it, if you’re really unsure be safe rather then sorry and mark it anyways. You can also always ask a moderator to check it to make sure. Repeatedly not marking your content can result in banning form TOKYOPOP!

Manga:  If the story contains graphic material such as nudity or sex it should be marked as adult content.

Illustrations, Avatars, Photos, Videos:  If the pictures contain explicit language written or verbal of a sexual nature, nudity or sexual acts even if the characters are clothed it should be marked as adult content.

Clans/Clan Images:  If your clan deals with content of an explicit or sexual nature it should be marked as adult only. Some examples of clans that should be marked are hentai/porn clans, adult role play, and clans dealing with murder or explicit violence. Adult Only clans are not limited to just these examples.

Clan images should be marked as adult only if the clan itself is not of a violent or sexual nature but the image contains explicit language written of a sexual nature, nudity or sexual acts, even if the characters are clothed it should be marked as adult content.

Music:  If the music has explicit language of a sexual or violent nature it should be marked as adult content.

Fiction:  If the writing includes explicit language of a sexual nature, or mature themes such as rape, graphically detailed murder, etc. it should be marked as adult content.

Blogs, Polls, Reviews, Top Tens, Articles: If the writing includes explicit language of a sexual nature, or mature themes such as rape, graphically detailed murder, etc. it should be marked as adult content.

How do I mark my content?

When you submit a piece or work there’s always a box next to the title that reads “Adult Only” Check this box to mark it as adult content.

What is Flagging?

Flagging is used to alert the admins that there’s unmarked adult content on the site. If you find something that falls into the descriptions of what to mark above, then please flag it. After three flags it goes into the admins queue to be reviewed and then if it’s inappropriate we will mark it and warn the users.

When you view content you will see a series of buttons under the item:

Click the “flag” button to mark it, you must be logging in to do this.

The biggest thing to remember is this website can not only be accessed in the home, but schools, libraries and other public places. For marking adult content it’s safe to go by the rule that if a school wouldn’t want their students viewing it on their computers then it should be marked as adult content.
