How it sneaks up on you

I have been informed that today is our 8th Wedding Anniversary. It's a good thing Bo remembers these things XD I know we've been together much longer than that. 8 is really only an "official" number on paper for me. I think we're going, what? 12 years together? That's a long time to put up with my shit. Bo should be nominated for sainthood.

Happy Anniversary, [info]nockergeek. I'll stick around until you're fed up with me. ♥

Had a good holiday weekend. I feel like we accomplished so much in just three days! I've been doing most of it with a minor ear infection and fighting off sinusitis as well. My teeth and tongue ache from swollen glands, but plenty of rest and positive vibes are really helping me stay afloat.

The pot luck over at [info]evildennis' was just great fun. There were so many tasty treats! I had a hard time not over-indulging, but I still felt bloated when I got home (I think that was from downing a whole can of soda).

Tiny got over her bronchitis which is just a big relief. She's been energetic and perky and adorable. She's also been stuck on this "mommy" loop for the past several days. It's getting old. Sometimes I think she says "mommy" because she has nothing else to say.

I wrote over 2000 words in the past couple of days, just kicking out fanfictions. FFMUX is a real RP wasteland right now. We are suddenly at just a severe playerbase lull that it feels as if nothing is going on. It's disheartening, but also the nature of text-based role-playing games. Multi-themed MU*s are still kicking, but I don't know whether it's due to being based on one series or if it's just the age of the MUX, but there's just been no fresh blood. It could also be that there aren't enough pretty moving pictures and absurd quests to participate in. Maybe if we charged more, we'd have more players :3

I finished a commission over the weekend, have another in for approval, and I'll be working on finishing the last image from Naka-kon this weekend. Due to the potential of getting a new house at the end of summer, I'll probably have to cancel all my conventions for the rest of the year--which is no huge loss, since it's only two, but I will miss attending cons. We just need to gather all of our funds to not only sell this house, but put a downpayment on another, and furnish the new home. Of course, there are all the incidental expenses that go along with that.

In an effort to improve the house in which we currently live, I've been working on the gardens. I pulled a silver maple that planted itself in the herb garnet (I meant "garden" -- bo caught that one) and tried to transplant it out front. At first, I was worried it wouldn't take. I couldn't yank up its entire root system (it had been growing partially under the cement slab of the dog kennel, so digging wasn't an option). The day after I planted it, it was 88 degrees and many of the weepy/shocky leaves curled up and died off. However, in the past couple of days, the tree has been putting on new leaves and a few still remain strong. I've made an effort to water it as much as possible. Cool nights are probably assisting root regeneration. Things are looking up for it.

I look forward to moving. It's going to be another whirlwind summer. It feels like there's so much to do that I'm still not sure where to start. But, I'll pick a place and just start working. There is a time limit on all this to get the best deal/opportunities.
