The room rejoiced and in the chaos of celebration, Pheona and Damien slipped away.
The sun was just rising over the buildings of the city and Pheona ran to the edge pg the roof they had climbed to.
“Damien, you have to see this! It’s magnificent!”
Pheona turned and looked at Damien. The suns light was filtering through the many buildings and starting to illuminate the dark sky. Damien was in the shadows, cringing.
“Damien?” Pheona said, as more of a question. She looked around and ran to him. “What’s wrong?!”
“I’m a vampire. The sun hurts. That’s why I’m in the shade, been almost a month since I want into the sun and the fortnight has only just passed last night.”
“Haven’t you ever heard of the prophesy? There’s a part about walking in the sin or something. What to see if it’s true?” Pheona walked back to the side of the building.
“No.” His face had contorted into a pained look.
“Please.” Pheona made her eyes big and her lips pouty, hoping that would work, as her heart began to race.
“Why are you doing this? Don’t make that face.”
“Why?” She asked in her most innocently sweet but almost teary voice.
“Because I love your eyes and it looks like your going to cry when you make that face. And I couldn’t stand it if you a tear dropped from those bug brown yes of your.”
“But Damien.” Pheona said in the same voice.
“Okay but if I die, it’s on your head.”
Damien took a step and swiftly came to her side.
“See you’re not dying. You’re fine.”
“Okay, well, what is it you want me to see?”
“That.” She pointed to the sun rise.
“I think because I took this risk you owe me something.”
“Oh, what’s that?”
“This.”
Damien swiftly took her in his arms, leaned down, and caught her in an earth shattering kiss as the sun finally broke over the many rooftops of the big city.

“Are you sure you want to do this?”
“Yes, Damien I’m sure.”
“You know we can’t have kids.”
“We wouldn’t be able to either way. Would we?”
“No, but what if you want one?”
“We’ll adopt. Stop staling and do it.”
“Not if you’re going to act like that.”
“Okay, please Damien.”
“Alright. If this is really what you want.”
“Yes, it is.”
“I love you, don’t forget.”
“Just have some control on how make blood you take.”
“Hey, I can control myself!”
“I know. I’m sorry. Please.”
“Lay down.”
Damien leaned over Pheona and then strapped her down to the bed with think chains.
“It’s so you don’t hurt yourself.”
“Okay.” Pheona said but her heart was beating out of her chest.
“It’s okay, calm down.”
“I am calm.” She answered but her heart still betrayed her.
“Close your eyes. It will only take a second and it will feel like a pinch.”
“Okay.” Pheona answered, closing her eyes.
She felt his body lean closer to her and his hot breath on her neck. She was gripping the bed sheets and then she felt four pricks of pain as he pierced her skin.
She cries out despite trying not to. The pain was siring hot but icy could all at the same time and as it spread, she felt a new darkness overtake her behind her closed eyes and she passed out.
As she woke up, she felt a hunger like she had never felt before.
“Here, drink this.”
“Damien?”
“Yes, Pheona it’s me.”
“Where are you?”
“Right here. Your eyes are still closed.”
“Oh.” With that, she opened her eyes and there was Damien.
He still looked the same, but his had a shocked look in his eyes.
“What is it? What happened?”
“Your eyes are so red. I was just wondering if my eyes were that red when I woke up from my transformation.”
“Oh, were you hungry when he woke up?”
“No, but I was too scared to be hungry. You know what has happened to you. I didn’t so I was frightened. Here eat and I’ll explain the rules and fates in depth.”
“Okay.”
Pheona drank, and as she did, Damien spoke and everything was explained. She listened and thought about the fates.
“I think I don’t need a fate.”
“What?! Why?!”
“Because I’ve done what I was found to do. I was apart of your fate and its been fulfilled. I think we’re both had enough fate for an eternity.”
“”Yes, I guess you’re right.”
“And I think we may want to get rid of fates in general. They pigeon hold people and make them have to be this or that. Why not let people choose their own destinies.”
“You are going to be an excellent ruler with me.”
“Thank you.”
“So none of this ever happens again. Lets change more than just the fates, lets make a new government of free thought.”

Damien and Pheona were the best rulers of all the dark angels. They ruled with wisdom and love. The dark angels were bought out of the age of blindness and were given the freedom of choice. The vampires found a way to live harmoniously with those they only thought of as pray and prospered throughout the world under Damien and Pheona’s rule.
