The name had been smeared as I came to the end of the letter. I laughed. “What a bunch of bologna!” I opened to the first page. It began with a tale.

“Once upon a time, the worst knight in the Kingdom of Chadston had been called upon by the King himself. His followers gloated about their friend's summoning more than himself. He began drained each day that came closer to the anointed day. The reason, that was the day of his wedding to his lover. In vain, he stepped each step closer to King in his castle. His heart was in pain withc each inch that made him further away his beloved. Little did he know that the pain that was being piled up was not because of the loss of her, but the task that awaited him. The King showered him with a party and a fine dinner before the reason for such an invitation. The King spoke seriously without hesitating at any point.

'You are to kill your fiance by dawn. If she is not dead by then she shall consume and kill all of the village folk, sparing yourself. She is the daughter of the terrible demon that lives to live in darkness. She will drain them all. Without sparing a second thought to it.' He spoke vainly to the poor knight.

The knight could not agree even if it was the King's demand. To kill his beloved? Who could do such a thing? The rose of his existence...

That night the slaughtering began as foretold. The knight could do nothing as he watched his love murder all his neighbors. He stormed to the King's chambers.

'You have mad her crazed with some witchery of that old maid! Or was it the forest nymphs that helped you!! Tell me!!' The night screamed at the King.

'I told you this would happen, but you didn't listen.'

'I did!' He screamed as he threw her body to him. His tears drained his heart more and more. He was losing his soul. He had lost his soul.”

“Miss Cadwyn? Miss Cadwyn?” I knock came from my door. I put the book down and an to the door.

“Yes?” I asked through the door.

“Room checks.” The advisor for my wing spoke. I opened the door letting her see my room. She was convinced that I had no one “special” in my room. Having anyone inside my room of the opposite gender was restricted, of course. I closed the door as she left and sighed. “I better get some sleep.” I spoke as I closed the book. But, something caught my eye. I wasn't on the page I stopped at. It was on the table of contents. But, the only story written down was “The Knight and His Lover”.
