Chapter one: Their Dear Mother

"Big brother, we found the stone. We found the Philosopher's Stone! Now you can get your arm and leg back." Al yelled with excitement.

"What did I say before, you don't have to worry about that. Let's just worry about getting your body back first, okay?" Edward told his younger brother.

"Okay."

'The Philosopher's Stone the legendary gem with the power to restore Al's body and it might just be the one thing to exchange with mom's soul, Ed though to himself.

When Trisha Elric died Ed wanted to bring her back. He believed that his mom died because his dad left them when he and his brother were really little, Al doesn't even remember him at all but
Edward hates his father for leaving them.

The boys took alchemy lessens for about five years. When they got home, Edward and Al tried to bring their mom back to life. They tried to bring her back by using illegal alchemy, Human transmutation, and what came out of it was not human. Al lost his body and Ed lost his leg and gave his arm in exchange for his brother's soul.

Ed agreed to Al that what they did was wrong and that they shouldn't do it again, but Edward kept it in his mind to bring his mother back.

Edward wants to bring his mom back after he gets his brothers body and soul back together.

And Al doesn't know a thing.


Chapter two: Body, Mind and Soap

"Will you shut up already?!" Ed whined as Alphonse recited the elements of a human body for the fifty-forth time in a row.

"I'm extremely sorry brother. It's just that, well... I'm Excited!"

"About what?"

"Why brother, you do not know? Why, it's the third annual State Alchemist 'What is Most Useful To You' Contest. This years theme is 'Relaxing the ages'."

"Huh? That's stupid!" Ed yelled in irritation.

"But brother..." Al replied.

"But nothing! Why do you want to compete in a ridiculous thing like that? 'Relaxing the Ages'. Pffft!" Ed muttered to himself.

Suddenly they halted to a complete stop. Alphonse swept his eyes over the green area ahead and beamed with a look of pleasure.

"Where exactly did you steer us Al?"

"Um. He he, uh. We are kind of ... at the... contest."

"What! Why you little-!"

"I'm sorry!! Ever since mom died you're been cranky and you've been overpowering yourself. I just
thought that this would give you a time off to relax and have fun. I'm sorry... If you want to leave,

it's okay, I understand." Al stated.

"No, we'll stay... but the minute it's over, we're out of here!" Thanks, brother."

The two boys wondered around immensely through the festivities searching for an idea.

"Relaxing the ages, right?" Ed asked in a soft tone.

"Yes. What could we make that has to do with relaxation and the past?" Al replied.

"I don't know, Al? You're the one who entered us, didn't you think about that before."

"Um... no," Al gave an answered.

"WHAT! What do you mean, no? Do you think I know what's relaxing in the past!" Ed want
berserker.

"Well, you’re older."

"Older? I thought that would be the other way," said a girl right behind the boy. "Sorry, I couldn't help but hear that you entered the 'Relaxing the Ages' and that you need an idea of what to do, am I right?"

I girl was about Ed's height, green eyes, tan skin, and her hair was dark brown with an inch of red at the bottom.

"Um... yeah that mostly sums it yup." Al said kindly.

"Hey! What do you mean the other way." Ed said hotly.

"I mean your short! Got a problem with that shortly?" the girl teased.

"WHAT? Shortly! Let me at HER! Let me at HER!"

"Please, brother calm down," Al begged.

"Ha!Ha!Ha! You remind me of an old friend. Hot headed and short." The girl kept teasing.

"Ah ...!" Ed yelled with frication, "Your short, too, you know."

"Yeah, but I'm only 14."

"Really! But you seem like a..." Al started to say.

"16 year old?" the girl asked.

"13 year old." Ed said.

"Huh? What ever. Um... what are your names anyway?"

"Hmph.Why should we tell you?"

"I'm Al short for Alphonse, and this my brother Edward. Ed for short."

"Al!" Ed yelled.

"What?! I was just being polite." Al explained.

Listening to the boys argue was boring so the girl looked at Ed’s clothes and notice a watch on his
belt loop.

"Your a State Alchemist?" she asked.
