Rowling (Harry Potter), Philip Pulman(The Dark Materials Trilogy), Battletech books, Christopher Paolini(the inheritence trilogy), Stephen Baxter, Johnathan Stroud (the Bartimaeus Trilogy), and finally: Anne McCaffrey (spelled right? I love the dragons of pern seiries)
