I've been reading a lot on DeviantArt about what people to do to get over art block. Where I go to college you are expected to eat, live, breathe and sleep creativity 24/7, so there's a lot of strange rules and things we have to do in order to keep creative all the time. It's based on the principle 'the art of looking sideways.' meaning that if you change your perceptions all the time, creativity will come easier to you.
In order to do this, we are set rules which we must religiously follow, some are ones we make ourselves and others are set for us, here are a couple
- Wake up at a different time everyday: This one completely throws you (and you'll need some tea or coffee to survive it!) But by getting up at 2am one day, 12pm another day, 6am another day and so on, it changes your perception of the world completely, it also gets you out of any routines and habits you have.
- Go somewhere you've never been before: This all depends on yoru circumstances as to where you can go, but for me I can just stick my finger on a point in the map (of the UK anyway) and go there (living in London has it's perks) then when you get there document it, take photos, buy the local paper, it's amazing how diverse everywhere actually is.

I don't know about the waking up at a different time everyday. I work so I have to wake up early so I can produce something before work. That does not sound very creative I know.
