Giant anime boobs, also known as fan service, have had just about all they can stand. From titillating zero-gravity laws to weight proportions of back-breaking heights, the laws of physics can only go so far.
It seems fitting then that Yokohama-based design company, Vorpal, would design a character with boobs so marvelous, they cannot stand at all. While they may not be able to walk, boy can they smile! I mean, look at these cuties!
At first glance, the characters might seem to be drawn in the nitoshin, or “two-head scale,” style in which an anime character’s proportions are compacted so that the head and the rest of the body are the same size. “Nipaishin,” though, means “two-breast scale,” and the characters’ busts compose exactly half of their mass. On the one hand, the characters represent a physical manifestation of an increased patriarchal society. But on the other, more realistic hand, where else were anime breasts to go but... bigger?
The key man behind the milk bubbles movement is none other than ninja action/boob-watching anime and video game franchise creator, Kenichiro Takaki. Famous for “Senran Kagura,” Takaki joined the Nipaishin project as a special advisor. And seeing as six of the eight as-yet announced anime characters who are getting Nipaishin makeovers hail from “Senran Kagura,” the appointment is rather fitting.
Senran Kagura’s Asuka:
Also represented are two characters from Takaki’s newest pet project, “Valkyrie Drive,” which is also fitting, seeing as the anime and video game franchise has been a pioneer in the field of assigning weight to fictional breasts.
Valkyrie Drive’s Rinka:
Exact dates have yet to be announced. However, keep an eye out for the anatomically-oversized opening, as Vorpal plans to open an online shop to sell Nipaishin merchandise. The promotional mockup below shows that the company hopes to offer keychains, pins, stickers, and ema (Shinto shrine wish boards).
