Dead or Alive 2 is one of my favourite games... but why shouldn't it be? I'm not saying it's the best game in the world, but its still a good game.

Dead or Alive 2 is a combat game with many different modes. Story, Time Attack, Survival, Tag Team, Team Battle, Verses, Watch and Record/Replay modes. story mode is where you pick one of 10 (or more) characters to play their story. it follows through some fights until the end where you have to defeat the boss, which appears in all the characters' stories. The story mode is nicely put together. I like the way that your friend can pick up the other controller and be your new challenger during a fight. All the stories are different from each other and it rewards you well... otherwise for a while. the story mode however, is short. it'll take 10-20 mins to complete. Sometimes you feel that the fighting is random and kinda pointless... hmmm is it? Time attack is a cool mode. if there is a time set then you have to beat the certain amount of enemies as fast as you can. survival mode... you choose a charracter and battle your way through until someone kills you. the only thing to want more of is the freedom to choose which place you'd like it set in, as this mode all happens in one stage. tag team... choose a partner and battle through different couples and different stages. Your friend can play with you on this one... me and my friend love this mode. team battle, obvious... you chose your team of fighters and fight again... but this team is in a queue, so if the character your playing dies, the next takes over. the only problem with this is that if your a skilled button masher, you only get to play one of the team mates, sad really. Verses is simply to verses your friend in a fight. and Watch mode lets you pick two people and you can watch them fight for hours on end without touching the controller. but the characters never die, so u have to decide when ur tired of watching them fight. Record/replay is where you record your own fight and save it, or maybe just replay an old fight u wanted to see again.

The graphics are nice. the characters and stages are smooth and colourful.

The gameplay is really good. Fair opponents (unless you've put the setting on to hard). But for those people who want to mash the buttons away to win, gd on u! but then there are lots of moves to explore, but how do u remember them all or get into a situation where you get the chance to use them. .

The modes can be adjusted to fit you by changing the options, like adding a timer on the story mode, or adjusting the amount of damage your health bar takes in.

overall, a great game and enjoyable, with many things to unlock like characters, costumes, and collection items
