Director of IT
TOKYOPOP, Inc. is seeking a Director of IT who desires hands-on management of our Windows, Mac, Linux infrastructures in both enterprise and customer-facing sites. Because of the dynamic and creative nature of our business, the candidate must be flexible, eager to learn and desire challenge. Responsibilities of the Director of IT will include:
- Manage and upgrade the enterprise Windows Active Directory infrastructure
- Maintain and increase the high-bandwidth file services and SANs for SMB, AFP and NFS protocols
- Manage and upgrade the enterprise Windows Active Directory infrastructure
- Maintain and increase the high-bandwidth file services and SANs for SMB, AFP and NFS protocols
- Manage the printing and color publishing devices
- Manage and build video and audio editorial and production facilities
- Engineer and manage the multi-terabyte backup system
- Build a new help desk system to track customer service issues
- Implement bulletproof security policies that drive the rules in the firewall, premise and computer systems
- Build and implement an overall IT infrastructure strategy
- Recommend and purchase hardware/software/technology services
- Work with the CTO on matching IT policies, procedures and strategies with business processes and goals
- Quarterly reviews and continual critical assessment of the current technology, recommending prudent investments when needed
- Manage the Exchange, Blackberry and wireless messaging infrastructure
- Interview and hire IT staff
Upcoming projects include single sign-on to all enterprise applications, network upgrades to 10 GbE, global VPN networking to all offices worldwide, help desk software selection and process creation, new CRM and ERP solutions, and digital asset management.
Qualifications of the candidate will include:
- 5-10 years IT Manager or Director experience leading IT teams, developing IT strategy and developing long term IT plans
- 5+ years leading and building a customer-service help desk
- 5+ years hands on experience with Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory with troubleshooting experience
- 5+ years hands-on experience designing and implementing networks using Cisco, Juniper or Foundry equipment with VLAN, IPSEC and performance tuning experience
- 5+ years managing and designing mission-critical backup systems with at least 5 TB of data
- 5+ years managing messaging platforms (Exchange, Blackberry preferred)
- 5+ years designing and implementing security practices, firewall rules, encryption
- Previous experience in a global company with worldwide offices preferred
- ITIL experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in technology, Masters preferred
- MCSE and Networking-related certification preferred
- CRM/ERP/Financial/Multimedia production experience is a plus
- DBA experience is a plus
- LAMP development is a plus
- Strong project management skills a must
