TOKYOPOP is seeking interns to work in our Editorial Department. Interns will be able to gain hands-on experience working directly under our experienced Editors. This internship will provide valuable experience in the world of book publishing.
DUTIES:
Assist in developing original and licensed manga editorial plan to meet or exceed strategic & budgetary goals
Ensure products are completed with correct spelling, grammar and layout, on time and on budget
Work with others in a collegial manner and laterally manage across departmental lines
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
English, Journalism, and Liberal Arts major desired
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Positive attitude
Ability to multi-task
Knowledge of Japanese language is desired, but not required
Must have superior communication abilities
Able to contribute creative ideas and collaborate with others to enhance original projects
Knowledge of American and Japanese/Asian pop culture and entertainment desired
Ability to work independently, with limited supervision
JOB REQUIREMENT:
This is a Non-Paid Internship in Los Angeles
You must enroll in an internship class and receive course credit for the work experience
We will work around the intern’s school schedule and be flexible; however, a regular weekly schedule is required
