To start off, I Luv Halloween has a sort of grungy, yet smooth art style. It is very detailed and gives off a unique vibe. The story itself is extremely unique. It starts off with some trick-or- treating kids recieving apples at their first house. Of course, many of us would complain and move on, but not these kids. Especially after they recieve terrible treats afterwards. They plot revenge, but not the teeping the house or throwing eggs type of revenge. No, this "mini mafia" as I like to put it, plans deadly revenge. But that's as far as I will go will the plot itsel, I don't want to spoil it. But I will talk about the main characters. Finch, the ringleader of the group, has the mind of an evil genius and the body of what looks like to be a ten year old. His friends are unique in their own ways, ranging from slow, smart, and pervert (mind you, these kids are probably uder 13 years of age). His little sister Moochie, is no better than Finch. A unique thing is that you never see any of the kids real faces since they are in costumes (except Moochie, who doesn't wear a mask). I found that to be unqiue as well. In the end and the beginning, you learn secrets about Finch, but it may take awhile to fully understand them. All in all, these kids kept me laughing and being horrified at the same time, all the way until the end. I can't wait to read the second volume.
I picked I Luv Halloween at my bookstore, and I wasn't sure what to expect. What I got was an awsome story, with great artwork and some very creepy, yet somehow cute kids.
